Another way I've conceptualized the differences between Teams and Zooms ...
Teams is similar to using a conference room in your office. Could be one of those small rooms with a round table that seats 4 to 5 people. Or perhaps a slightly larger conference room. There might be a projector that you may or may not know how to work or a flip chart in the corner with no markers that work or no paper left. It's ok for an internal team meeting, but you would not use that kind of room for a large group meeting or for meeting?with clients or external partners.
Zoom is similar to renting a meeting room at a hotel with proper?technology equipment?with different room size and configurations available.
The production aspects alone of the 2 platforms are wildly different and hence the experience and the meeting designs are very different.
Best,
Laura

Thank you Francois and Nancy!
The metaphor I use (with caution!) is that it would be like a householder engaging the services of an electrician or plumber to address a major problem, but insisting they use the tools already laying around the house!

?Oh boy... again! I have the same problem with a lot of clients. I usually ask them these questions
1- Can you easily allow participants to share screens : usual answer hmm..yes...but we have to allwo persmission first and IT does not want this and we need their permission...red tape..
2- Can you easily form breakout rooms...usual answer sure but...
3- Can we easily use poll....usual answer...yes but
4- Security issues ? Ah yes...have you heard about the latests Zoom updates about this...Usual IT answer ...updates? Huh?
5- Better audio and video quality, green screen capabilities, sharing document, chat etc. etc..
But what usually breaks them is the fact that I can deliver a much better performance on Zoom and increase the impact of the session.
Nancy's document is awesome!!!!
