I love this conversation! I have just started reading Emergent Strategies. Is anyone familiar with that? Seems a way to morph from what is good about thinking strategically into wider themes of non-linear thinking. And I hear you about paying the bills! Hard to be on the cutting edge...aka the consulting edge. Best, Ann

Wow, I¡¯m?surprised they even allow Zoom!

I haven¡¯t had the best experiences with Microsoft Whiteboard (syncing issues and inability to handle too many users at once).? But outside of that, it is a pretty powerful free tool when using windows. For best use, you would have to get your participants to download the app from the Microsoft store from their OS.?My suggestion would be to have a template and make copies for smaller team work.? It is an infinity board and has some cool frames for team brainstorming.

Also, power point can be?another way to collaborate.? It would just be a nicer version of Google jamboards, since you can use each slide as a different board.

Hi David

What about?GroupMap? It's similar to Miro/Mular but much more secure.
Honestly, the client will not want to be in the stone age forever, whereas there are good alternatives?out there.

Best wishes

I have a client with an extremely restrictive policies around use of various software programs.

I am about to engage in a strategic planning process with them, online. The only tools I can use are Zoom, Teams (which I would like to avoid like COVID-19, ThoughtExchange and the Microsoft suite of programs. They do not allow the use of Miro, Mural, anything in the Google world, etc. They have one survey platform that has been approved because it meets their stringent policies; however, it is only marginally useful.

I have a few thoughts on how I can engage this client; however, if anyone out there has experience doing a bare bones (from a technology perspective), yet incredibly rich and engaging strategic planning process, I would really appreciate your thoughts!

Cheers,

David
