I have two very different versions of the #2303 New York Central

The differences are several. Both boxes are labeled differently.
Car 1000's box says N.Y.C. 50FT Mech. Reefer while car 1020 says New
York Cen. 50' Mechan. Reefer.
Edward and all, as you probably noted on the A1G site, Barry Wingard reported this number variation (but not the painting and lettering variations that Ed described) in his book "The Collector's Guide to N Scale." I hadn't listed the 1020 version on my site, frankly, because I'd never seen one. Since we now have evidence (and yes, I'd appreciate some small sized scans), I have changed the website listing. However, it'll be a while before I can update the photos. (I guess I'd better buy that scanner soon.) Meanwhile, Edward, I've given you a credit on the 2300 page discussing the paint and lettering variations.
Cheers,
George (your list owner)
