She left me and for a long time I felt empty and directionless. My family was gone, and Elisiana was my twin¡­ in life and during my vampiric walk.

But my position put us on opposite science I heard she was running with a radical group, that called the old way to a form of oppressive authoritarianism, meant to keep all of us under thumb and under control. She wanted to be a part of bringing it down.¡± He sighed.

¡°I couldn¡¯t tell you this before, but your prince isn¡¯t the first Prince, who had an attack on his life, but he is the first one of a handful to survive.?Tell me what happened after I left.¡±

Hollywood listened to him and knew he was right on some levels. "After you left the Society?" She asked to confirm that is what he was asking about. While waiting, she sighed and explained some of the past. "I never turned my back on you. When that attack occurred in Hollywood at the sanctuary we were living in, we were separated. I searched for you, for many years. Followed your trail across this country and back again. Each time I got close, one or both of you moved again and I lost the trail. At one point I decided to stay put, in Hollywood. Which is where I had met others and joined them, changed my name for I had suffered much heartache at that point. Became a protector. Went through a few years of training for it." She paused for a moment. She was letting him know everything at this point. There was no sense in not simply telling him.

"I eventually was assigned to a ruler in San Diego," She paused as a moment of deep sorrow crossed her face, "Bishop Kellen. We grew close, very close. In time we formed a deep bond, not just emotionally, but a blood bond. Then one night she was..." Hollywood couldn't finish her sentence. "My humanity was switched off at that point, I had no control over it. When that happened I felt the connection between you, Eli and I sever. I wandered for many years. Finding work where I could, and eventually wound up here and protecting another ruler." She sat down on the bench at that point, her humanity being off helped her tell her tale, otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to even say Kellen's name let alone think of her.

Tori felt what Colin felt and reached for him. She too was relieved to know that they were actually siblings. Not adopted siblings but actually siblings.

What kind of person were their parents¡­ their mother¡­that she gave birth to a vampire with werewolf tendencies, and a werewolf with some vampire powers.

¡°But why that doesn¡¯t explain the why. You said that you were only going to keep our mother until she gave birth to us which means you wanted us. Not our mother. Why what was the endgame father. Or should I even call you that? Why did you want us? And how did you keep us alive after she died? My God¡­did you keep her on life-support for until you could harvest us from her long dead body.¡±

Vincent expected the reaction he was receiving as well as the questions. "Let me start with the last question, no. When Anais died with Draven, I had a witch do a ritual to save you two. Anais was far enough along that you could be born and survive. The witch helped birth you from her.

Once you were born, we were going to sell Anais to the highest bidder. The endgame was to have you two." He looked at Tori, "you and Colin are my and Chantel's children. We love you very much and have we not ensured that you both have never needed for anything? Please do not let this?information bring a rif between us."

Colin gave Tori's hand a squeeze while looking at Vincent, "I can understand both sides here. But what I would like to know is what where Draven and Anais? How are Tori and I different species?"

With a small smile Vincent responded, "Not really sure why it happened the way it did. But Draven was an ancient vampire and Anais was a hybrid of a vampire and a werewolf, but she never fully embraced her vampire side. So, you," he looked at Colin, "developed into the vampire side and you," he looked at Tori, "developed into the werewolf side. You are both very rare hybrid beings."

"I just don't know when it's okay to use them, is all.? They didn't teach me that."? He muttered an added resentful "Not hard to guess why."

He took the basket of clothes Akira had helped him pick out and turned towards the rear of the building.? "I believe the room for changing is back there somewhere.? I'll come back when I've put these new things on, and then you can tell me what you think.? And please, be honest," he added.? "Otherwise I won't really know what's good.? And I want to know what's good.? They didn't really cover that in any of the training manuals I was given."

Akira chuckled, "pheromones aren't something one can control. They just are. Glad to know that I don't stink."


Akira followed Gen to the fitting rooms. "I can come in with you and sit outside of the changing stall, that way you won't have to come out here to show me your outfit. There are benches inside. Come on." Akira led the way into the male?side of the changing rooms and took a seat on one of the benches in front of one of the empty stalls. "See, you go in there, get something new on and come out here for me to see. Simple."

Draven opened the door of their home and let Khadashee step through first, once inside he paused as he realized the reason for her question.?

"Ah, no. She was a wench for pleasure. A means for relief, which created Bridget. We had tried a relationship, but alas she didn't wish to be with a pirate, but she wished to no longer be where she was. She asked to be anywhere else to raise our child." He paused as he went and got them some water to drink.

Once he was sitting he looked at her, "what are you worried about, Khada? I am in love with you and you with me. Ours is a different situation."

Khadashee ?frowned at his words. She didn¡¯t really like the insecurity he was painting her with.

Vincent's wounds closed quickly and he rolled his sleeves back down, buttoning the cuffs, "it was a long time ago. An old rivalry that went back centuries. When I saw the opportunity, I took it. Your mother and I were planning one keeping Anais until she birthed the two of you. We were unaware that they had made a blood bond between them. Theirs was more than a simple bond. They were bound by the heart. They had been betrothed and were bound by much more than a mere blood bond." He paused to let them think and ask any questions they might have at the moment.?

Ariein had been lost and thought trying to understand and contemplate what exactly was happening. Sister was back his twin. He hadn¡¯t seen her in years. Hollywood was back his. He hadn¡¯t seen her in years. And somehow both were embroiled and some type of plot to kill the prince of the city. So much to unpack.

However, the sound of her voice reached him. and he stood, ?turn. ?¡° hello Lina, my apologies Hollywood. It¡¯s been a long time.¡±

As Khadashee listened she had so many questions. Mostly because he said he brought a very pregnant Lily here. Much like he was doing with her.
She didn¡¯t really know how to broach the subject but she was going to try.

Draven opened the door of their home and let Khadashee step through first, once inside he paused as he realized the reason for her question.?

"That isn't all you brought with you, is it?"? The young red-head shook her head disdainfully.? "I swear, a place for teens in need should be a _lot_ better prepared than this.? First thing after we eat, _you_ and I are getting you some more clothes."

"Don't judge them too harshly," Splice went on as she kept walking.? "They're still kind of short-staffed and just getting things set up here.? I do sometimes wish I had a power for creating illusions.? That I could appear dressed however I like no matter what I was wearing.? Or not wearing," she added, grinning impishly.? "Wouldn't that be a trip?"

Sadie smiled, not entirely sure of what Colleen was talking about. Splice was cute and for a moment she wondered what the girl would look like dressed in something different...something sexy or....
The dark-haired girl cleared the thought from her head. She'd just met Colleen and they were barely friends.?
Still, Reaper couldn't help but think about it, but she rarely allowed herself such thoughts. When she got close to people, they sometimes died.?
The young woman refocused her thoughts on food as they walked into the cafeteria. She looked around then glanced to Splice.
"It smells good. I'm starving," she grinned. "Let's eat."

"Well, you at least have figured out how to dress like others. That is a start. Good thing that we don't have to wear uniforms here. So, let's do this, you pick out stuff that you find interesting. We will put it all in this basket and then figure it out from there. And yes, there is a fitting room or rather a place we go and try on the clothes."

Akira chuckled, "of course girls are supposed to smell different from boys. All that sciency stuff and you were not taught about pheromones. Interesting." He giggled when Gen sniffed his neck, "that is fine. And I am not wearing anything like cologne or after shave. We all put off our own smells. Some are nice and some are not so nice. Some people just down right stink," he wrinkled his nose, then quickly added, "but, unless you are really close with that person, you don't tell them they stink. That is just rude."

He picked out a few clothes that he thought Gen would look nice in and placed them in the basket as they walked and talked and looked at different clothing items.

Sadie took a long shower, hoping maybe the hot water and soap would wash away not only the dirt and sweat, but the emotional pain she'd sustained since encountering Gray and his men. When she resolved herself finally that it would not, she got out of the shower, dried off and dressed in her last set of clothes in the now empty bag she'd brought along.

Afterwards, she stepped out of the bathroom and found Splice where she'd left her. Tossing her dirty clothes in a basket provided under her bed, Sadie then turned to Splice and smiled.

"Ready to hit the dining room?"

Diego arrived in the area first. He remained hidden, in human form. He could see the man sitting on a bench. He wondered who this man was from Hollywood's past. He didn't seem to want to harm her, but he also didn't want to be friendly with her, either. For now, Diego would wait for his friend to appear. He knew she was coming. He wondered if escaping from the Prince was going to bring about more trouble for him. He hoped not and that the Prince would now be focused on what happened at the Society. He pondered that as well. Who had done it? Was it part of the assassination attempt or a ruse for the other one to escape? There were a lot of unanswered questions at the moment. He caught her scent and simply stayed put. She would sense him there and call him out when the time was right.

Hollywood had managed to make it away from the Society without being followed. She had seen what was left of a few of the explosives, but for now, she had other things to consider. Her childer had returned to her, but now she needed to find out what they may know about anything. She walked with purpose towards the bench. She called out, not loudly, but enough for him to know she was there so that he wouldn't take up a defensive pose. "Hello, Ariein."

Draven was glad that she didn't push for him to return and dine with his daughter and her mother. He always felt a little awkward around Lily's husband. Even though he laid no claims to Lily, he still felt the man didn't trust him around his wife.

With a chuckle, "well, by following the stories. In my earlier days of traveling, I had heard of a place where those of the less legal nature on the water, could live and settle without the threat of being hanged. When I was finally captain of my own ship, I began asking about the mysterious island where we could be free. And after many months of travel and following different charts, finally found here. When I learned that I was going to be a father, I brought a very pregnant and willing to move Lily, here. Where she met her husband."

Ariein pace back-and-forth at the spot Hollywood told him to meet her at. Hollywood where in the world did she come up with that name from. what was wrong with Lena? It was definitely prettier. ?However, her name change was neither here nor there the real question was why. ?who was she running from??

Draven was glad that she didn't push for him to return and dine with his daughter and her mother. He always felt a little awkward around Lily's husband. Even though he laid no claims to Lily, he still felt the man didn't trust him around his wife.

Ariein pace back-and-forth at the spot Hollywood told him to meet her at. Hollywood where in the world did she come up with that name from. what was wrong with Lena? It was definitely prettier. ?However, her name change was neither here nor there the real question was why. ?who was she running from??

He still couldn¡¯t believe that after all this time. He gave up ever seeing her again. Tonight he saw not only her but also his sister. It was a regular family reunion.?

Before the Prince was escorted away by armed security, he looked at Scarlett, "Ms. MacAleister, I thank you for your services." He reached into his suit coat pocket and pulled out an envelope. He held it out to Scarlett, "I always pay those who work for me. Now, I want you to go and Hollywood. Get with her and return to the Society to discover the truth behind the explosion."

The prince was whisked away, through a heavy door in the parking deck and then he and his security detail were gone. Scarlett stood alone in the underground garage and looked around with absolutely no where to go. It was daylight outside and the door was locked so she could not follow.
The redhead pocketed the money, never ready to turn down cash. Though she was surprised at how the prince's tone had changed. With new instructions now in hand, she needed to focus on getting out of here safely.
Scarlett pulled out her cellphone and placed a call to Snow. He answered almost immediately is a frantic tone, "Where in the hell are you?"
"Not sure," she replied. "Parking garage somewhere. The prince ditched me here. Can you track my phone?"
"I'm already on it and I'm mobile," the young man told her. "I'm almost to your location."
About five minutes passed before the black van belonging to Scarlett pulled into the parking deck and rolled up to where the redheaded vampire was waiting.
The side door slid open, and Snow rolled down the driver's window and looked out at her, "You scared me, girl. Thought I was going to find you as a pile of ash somewhere. Get it."
Scarlett jumped up into the van, which was completely blacked out inside, and closed the door behind her. She took a seat and hit the intercom button to talk to Snow.
"Take me to the safehouse outside town," she told him. "I need some rest so I can go back out tonight. THe prince wants me back at the Midnight Society to investigate what happened."
The human familiar just nodded and drove off, leaving the parking deck and heading off to the safehouse to get his mistress to safety...

Draven gave Khada a smile, "I am pretty beat. It has been a long day. I went riding with Bridget earlier. She understands that we also need some time alone. I will be join her for breakfast. She will be heading to bed soon, anyway. I am just ready to return to our home and relax for the rest of the night." He said to her as they continued to walk towards their place in the jungle.
