Angus paused in the doorway, somewhat taken aback by the question. He scratched his chin, looking thoughtful for a long moment as he pondered the question. ?
"To be honest, mistress," he said finally, looking back to Mikayla, "I'm not sure. As a man, I feel like I've dreamed that I was a dog, but that it was only a dream. But as a dog, I feel like I've dreamed that I was a man." He shrugged and began leading the way down the corridor.? "And so now, I wonder if I'm a dog dreaming that he's a man, or if I'm a man dreaming that he's a dog." He chuckled to himself as he favored her with a sidelong glance.? "I do know one thing, mistress.? A man definitely eats better than a dog."
The room in question was on the next floor up.? It had windows and a balcony that let in a lot of natural light, but also had sizeable candelabras if light in the evening was required. There was a large oak table with a polished surface on which a bookstand stood. There was also a large beaten-brass hanging gong positioned by the door.? The servant carefully placed the book he was carrying on the bookstand, then turned back to Mikayla. ?
"If you should require anything, mistress, just give a shout and I'll most likely hear it.? But if I don't, you can just give that gong a good whack. I'll definitely hear that." Angus bowed respectfully.? "Is there anything you need before I go?"

Mikayla pondered Angus¡¯ words and then nodded. She also laughed at his wonderful observation. ¡°I¡¯m sure men do eat better. Although in my village the Mayor¡¯s dog FiFi might eat way better than both of us.¡± She said with a smile.
When he walked her into the room she turned in small circles examining everything before her. It was all...so...too...
As angus stepped way from the book, Mikayla stepped to it running her hand over it. When Angus began to leave she desperate rushed over to him reaching for his hand.
¡°Please do not go yet. This...this is all so new and strange to me and I¡¯m feeling a bit overwhelmed. Will you...would you stay...I could really use a friend right now.¡±
