Akira was a bit taken aback when Gen said that he more or less could be used to help colonize a place. "Well, glad you didn't have to be used that way." He said as he stood and gathered up their trays of dishes and walked them to the window where that sort of things would be taken care of.

He turned to Gen at that point, "so, ready to go and do some shopping? The campus store is quite large and we can find most anything we might need or want there."

"Sure," Gen replied eagerly.? "I've never really been shopping before.? I mean, I've been in stores, but I never had any actual money.? Most of the time, if there was anything I needed, I had to scrounge around for it.? It's amazing what some people will toss out.? I've got a bunch of stuff back at the lighthouse that I found going through trashcans and dumpsters."

"There'll probably be books and stuff that I'll need, yes?" he asked.? "Will the store have, like, a list I can go by, for the courses and stuff?? And I'm guessing I'll need a laptop too, maybe? And what about clothes?? I have what I've got on, and stuff I've scrounged, but I don't know what's good or appropriate." He glanced at Akira uncertainly.? "Can you help me with that?"
