I also spotted that thread, but in the end I can assure that the
gameboy frontlight is a 20 minute job, whereas the sidelighting has that
margin of risk-taling I'm not so fond of. Surely, the LCD field would be
better lighted, but then there is also peeling back the reflective film
from the original LCD...
Ah, I didn't realise it would require removing the reflective film. Have you got a link to the GS thread you're referring to?
The one I posted is just about replacing the LEDs on the AN1x, nothing about QY100.
