I use Native Instruments FM8 software. It faithfully emulates every patch from my DX7II-FD and even accepts SysEx dumps, so I can transfer entire banks of patches at once.

? Hi All,
I have a TX802 that I have been gigging with for years.? At this point, though, I would like to retire it to the studio 100% of the time for a couple of reasons:
- The sheer age of the synth is starting to scare me -- i.e., moving around a 30-35 year old piece of gear in a van, along with it's old set of capacitors, etc.? I'm waiting for the day when it doesn't boot when I flip the switch.
- I'm trying to lighten my rig.? Most of the sound electronics is in a large rack with wheels, affectionately called "the beast," that weighs about 70 lbs./32kg, loaded, including my 17" laptop.? Cutting 10 lbs. out of that would make a big difference to
this 66-year-old's back.
I'm looking at Dexed, Arturia's DX7 V, and Korg's new OPsix Native, a soft version of their OPsix.? The latter two have friendlier interfaces and effects, but the 'tech-iness' of Dexed doesn't really scare me, and I have plenty of effects in my digital mixer.?
Are there others I should look at?? Specifically, I'm interested in any experience with:
- Running multiple VSTi instances to get multi-timbral use.? (I use multiple FM sounds in some songs.)
- Crashes and such, particularly with Cakewalk by Bandlab and Windows 10.
- Ease (or difficulty) of porting TX802 (DX7II) sounds to a pure DX7 emulation.
Thanks in advance for any insights.
