Hi all,
Since the MD-36D8 DTMF microphones are no longer available, has anyone modified something like a Yaesu MH-36A6J with the modular plug?? Is there an aftermarket version available i'm not aware of?

Many thanks indeed Andrew, will do.

They are not test points but links, you have to
remove and insert an amp meter and measure the current, it is in
the service manual, first check the I/P to the amp first.
From memory something lile 400ma and 1 amp, the
bias pots are known to fail

Yes, 144 and 432 Mhz are fine.

Ok then the PA transistors are not been

You will need to probe the HF PA, check the
bias pots? are are creating the correct quesiant current,
are you able to measure the input to the PA board, it
should be 100 mW

The TX strip does have a set up procedure,
and a number of test point to check
I presume VHF and UHF are fine?

Dear FT 847 owners,

Now on HF and 50/70 Mhz it delivers only less that 10 w out.
I suspect some "boiled" component in the LPF bank or the final devices
gone....
It has been used intensively on 50 Mhz ft8 but never at full throttle power.
Any hints? for a similar experience are welcome.

Hi I think they are pull off, however, check there are no small screw holes.
Check the RX IF circuit for the AGC line I do not have a circuit with me, but I will be at home in 7 days

Do a reset on radio first before finding a fault that may not exist.
VFO knob is removed by turning radio upside down, look at shuffle jog, there is a slot in it. Use small Allen Key, about 1.5mm or 2mm and there is grubscrew in main knob.

Sounds like a cable problem. ?
? Do you know someone with an MD100 who you can borrow their cable? ?At least lend them your cable and see if it’s working.?
? ?Need to think about this and try some testing in one of my MD100 and get back to you.

When I measure pins 7 and 8 in the cord that goes to the phone jack to the radio I get no reading. I tried with the PTT off and down with the same results (radio off))
Regarding the mic gain I followed your instructions with no results (transmits but no audio)
