Guide Dog Users Rally for their rights ¨C When we ALL work Together
Have you, or someone you know? been denied a ride by Uber or Lyft? Have you acted as a decoy to get a friend a ride sharing? Has Uber or Lyft or even
the police not known the laws in this area? I am sure you have answered yes to at least one question above. This is a situation that effects millions of blind and partially sighted people on a daily basis.? The time has come for us all to rise up together.
I am pleased to welcome GDUI¡¯s Advocacy chair, Melanie Brunson, and at least one of their members (Olivia Norman) who will be attending the?October 15th?rally
at the Uber and Lyft offices in San Fransisco. ACB¡¯s Board of Directors is also sending Kim Charlson to support this event.? Join me?this evening?to discuss this issue and learn even more about the
history and actions that have been taken in the past and when we hope will come from this rally.

No, they definitely weren't let go from Uber or Lyft. That's the problem. Their contract is obviously been signed with Uber and Lyft from what she's told me. I know sounds a little freaky and scary, but it is what it is.

Well, it's not a new transportation service, but it's a new kind of transportation that they started just over the last week or so. You can read more about it at takethehob.com anyway, she went to their accessible app, scheduled for her ride, and they randomly started canceling it. She made it to one of the destinations, and was told to schedule another ride so that she could get from one city to the next. And due to a result of them canceling her ride at least three times, she had to wait three hours in order to get. I'm wondering if there has been any cities/states, they have had this type of disappointment. Point out, she did tell me that these people are Uber/Lyft drivers a, don't tell me why leave my ready to use. This is there replacement door? It definitely seems a little strange.

It's been quite a few years since I have used our bus system. Both fixed route and paratransit suck!

Re: disability related deals
I would also be interested. Last week, when I opened Lyft one day I got an offer to set a price for places that I go to on a regular basis, and it would be $2 or something like that a month, but it sounds like it¡¯s a place you go to every day.

Is there any deals or programs for uber and LYFT for the Blind or people with disabilities which prevent them from driving?
I seem to remember a program which allows me to pay one price a month for a ride package with one of the rideshare companies?
Or, am I just wrong?
Thanks,

When he responded he thought I was looking for a ¡°store¡± when I had said ¡°door.¡±? I got impatient and when I finally left the Lyft and asked someone for help, I was a block or so away from the restaurant.? Needless to say, he earned himself a 1* rating with a nasty note to Lyft.? With this topic having come up recently, has anyone been able to bring this as a concern to Lyft, and if so how have you been able to do it?

Re: Language barrier concerns
So well, this list is primarily for Uber and Lyft users, I definitely recommend also having the discussions of ADA public transit as well. Because they ultimately all do the same thing. So you're fine to have that discussion as well.

Hello, actually it has. Not from Uber or Lyft. But from our local transportation system, was mainly where I would use it the most. And they have a outdated GPS, and so it would try to
take them the back way to get to my house, and every time that they would, get to where the GPS told him my house was it wasn't there. So I had to tell them to not use theirs and let me just guide them. Which is what we did.

I mainly use it for the term by turn directions, and to keep me informed of how many miles I am away from my current destination. I don't use it to alert me whenever I pass by a business.
