Re: Pilot error?
I wouldn't unsolder them yet, until you're convinced they're bad. Check the voltage on the base and collectors of the transistors. I can't remember the voltages you should see on the collectors, but

Re: Pilot error?
Ah - you are on to something. As best I can measure, I see no output from either transistor. Its hard to believe that both are faulty, but should I try to replace both of them? Last time I tried to

Karl, nice to see another "old timer" still at it! I'm 76, still having a great time (between the pain pills). I got an early start at 14, so I may have an advantage. Don't give up on it, you will

Re: Pilot error?
Correction to prior post. Installing the proper .ino compiles just fine, and the voltage on the LCD indicates 13.8 v input from power supply. Still no significant voltage from J3 or J2. Ivan - WC2S

Thanks for the suggestions. Since my original post, I reset the rotary encoder pin positions according to those I saw in W5GW's VFO checkout, and I think this question has been resolved. I also

There are device drivers in the directory where you installed the IDE. There are two EXE files and you need to run the one that pertains to your system. Intel or AMD.) The COM port can change, so try

If you are using Windows then you will need a driver for the USB interface chip. This is not specific to the Nano but is used by many other microcontrollers. The driver that is built into Windows is

When I downloaded the program, it prepended a minus sign at the start of the filename. That needs to be removed from both the directory and the *.ino file. Second, the Rotary header file is a lower
