Re: More testing on PA
Tnx Henning
?
SA was not overdriven, I did the 60dBM plot first and did not want to change anything.
The low bands were 12W so exceeded scale. SA had a lot of headroom left, I had 40dB attenuator in line from PA to SA.
You were quick to? see that shows you know your instrumentation well.

Re: Mike Black W9MDB SK
Although I didn't know Mike well he took the time one day to spend several hours on AnyDesk probing my Mac trying to resolve an issue with how WSJT-X interfaced with my Icom IC-7851. Mike was a fellow veteran and we spoke about our experiences while we worked. He shared his medical issues with me and I understood his concerns about his future but that didn't stop him from helping folks almost right up until the time he became a Silent Key. Most of us will never know how much he did for the hobby with his work mostly in the background. Thanks Mike and RIP.

Even if you don't know who Mike is, you know his work.? Mike was a key developer of hamlib in addition to many, many other contributions to our hobby.? I only had the privilege of a few email exchanges with him but you would be hard pressed to find a kinder, more helpful ham anywhere.

You plot shows some overdriving at low frequencies of either the Pa or the SA. So either increease the reference level to +20 dBm, or use a 10 dB attenautor at the SA?s input or lower the output of the TG by at least 10 dB. Henning Weddig DK5LV Am 31.03.2025 um 21:06 schrieb Tim via groups.io: I have Dr. Bills PA and a similar (same finals) from 60dbm shop. Both on 13V same 0dB sweep from SA. I attached the 60dBm Schematic for reference. |
Re: Need HELP!!!!
to be honest, I would have expected to know which mistake was the cause. It might be helpful for others. mistakes are meant to be learned. If no mistakes are?
made, there is nothing to learn. Again, please share your experience. Mistakes are not shameful.
History teaches us that mistakes have always led to progress. Scientists who didn?t share their ideas and mistakes have been forgotten.
From a distance it is always difficult to find mistakes, which makes honest feedback all the more important.
I hope I?m not offensive

Despite being a kit, the QMX is essentially an appliance - from my point of view. Because it's closed source. For me, its entertainment value is limited. Hans has promised some sort of built-in language interpreter, and I might go back to it when that's a reality. - Jerry, KF6VB Jack, W8TEE |
4SQRP T41 Assembled/Tested Radio for sale
Hello everyone,
I have an assembled, tested and calibrated a T41 from 4SQRP that I built as a comparison to my T41EP that I built from scratch (no kit). I wanted to see if my no kit T41 performed as well as the kit from 4SQRP (which it did!). My T41 for sale has the "built like a tank" 20 watt amplifier from K9HZ. The last firmware that I installed is T41EEE by KF6VB. Of course newer versions of firmware/software have been released which you could upgrade the T41 to. The T41 is excess to my needs and I am hoping that someone who wanted this design but missed the one-time production run from 4SQRP may be interested in buying this completed radio. Please contact me directly if interested via PM or email me to the email listed on QRZ.com.

Thanks and 73,

Re: QRP-Labs
That's one thing Hans does right: He doesn't release stuff until he's convinced it's bullet-proof. He had an SSB rig at the 2018 (?) YOTA conference in Africa, so it's not like he hasn't been fooling around with it for a while. He does use Class E in the QCX family, so that wouldn't surprise me. I'm not at all surprised that his update works. Jack, W8TEE
