Re: Propellers for Yanmar 1GM10

Re: Propellers for Yanmar 1GM10
Marc, The important question is what RPM were you able achieve @ full throttle? (BTW, often tachometers maybe off by 10-15% and need calibrating with a strobe). Ideally you should be able to get max

Re: Propellers for Yanmar 1GM10
I had my first run last weekend with my 12 X 10 Martec two blade this weekend. Pushed it right up to 5.5 knots, might be able to squeak a little more but wouldn't want to run the engine that hard for

Re: Propellers for Yanmar 1GM10
Hi Mark, I measured my prop last weekend. It is 12" (can't find a pitch marking). and leaves about 1-1/4" clearance to the hull. I max out at about 5.5 knots, so you may already have the highest

Re: Propellers for Yanmar 1GM10
I just bought a 12 X 10 Martec folding but it's not installed yet. Most of what I found pointed to a 13 X 9 as the recommended size, but I don't do much motoring and found a good deal on this one. My

Propellers for Yanmar 1GM10
I am interested in what props you with Yanmars are using. I have always had a 14x10 which it really too long as there is only about 1/4 inch between the top of the prop and the hull. I can run about

I plan to start mine this week, but I have no intention of taking them off! Just not worth the hassle, but I live 15 minutes from my boat so it's no problem to go back and forth as I add coats of

Hi Allen, ? The Yahoo S2 Yachts group just had a nice, long exchange about this topic about three weeks ago. ? ? It can be a can o' worms if you have had any water infiltration though the bolt

Re: Refinishing grab rails
Has anyone removed the teak grab rails on the cabin roof for refinishing? Any particular problems or suggestions? Is it better to leave them on and refinish them in place? Any ideas or suggestions

Bimini top mounting?
So I'm a die hard lover of biminis in the summer, but my boat doesn't have one. Looks like it'll be no problem given the great clearance under the boom, just curious if others have installed them and

Re: Speedseal and 1GM10
Thanks, Bob. Great idea. Is there enough clearance to use either a socket or a box-end wrench, or do you have to use a open-end wrench? --Dave S.

Re: Speedseal and 1GM10
No Speedseal, but I swapped the slotted screws for hex head bolts. It makes a huge difference when changing the impeller. Still need fresh gaskets though. Bob Typos from my iPhone
