dave, i too have hex head bolts..P.O. installed..a bit tiny..i use either a small crescent wrench or needlenose pliers as the one bolt behind the shaft pulley is a pita...

No Speedseal, but I swapped the slotted screws for hex head bolts. It makes a huge difference when changing the impeller. Still need fresh gaskets though.
