Hi guys I've been looking on and off for a while for a correct 'up to 09/75' 16mm master cylinder for a while without success. That usually means I've been looking in the wrong place(s) so I thought I'd ask the best source of 90S knowledge - you guys. Anyone have one that they can spare? Thanks in advance, Richard.

Hi A very picky restorer here! I'm trying to figure out if the original 90S lower triple clamps were clear coated in 74 to 76 era or bear aluminum. I have several slightly different ones that are supposed to be 90S or at least from 74 through 76 bikes and all are marked differently and some are not clear coated. If any out there have a known original bike, can you check please? A simple rub with a rag and aluminum polish (on a very small inconspicuous area) will tell you this. I've read through all the posts here and elsewhere about R90S front turn signal stalks but can't find the answer to my question. I have a 1975 R90S with what I know are the R90 front turn signal stalks. I'm not keen to buy the original R90S turn signal stalks at their eye-watering price. I've got a machine shop so I can neatly modify the existing R90 stalks to the correct length R90S stalks. The question is: what is the length of the "tubular" part of the stalk for an R90S? My rough estimate is about 55mm or just over 2 1/8". Ken Eastern Ontario

I have a '74 with some nicks and areas where the paint rubbed off. I've tried two paints already and one was much too glossy (VHT Epoxy gloss black) , the other was a shade off, and still a bit too glossy (A Ford semi-gloss black). Has anybody found a good rattle can paint to match the '74 era frame/subframe/swingarm parts?

I have a 74 R90s that I'm putting back together and it had snowflake wheels on it (don't ask, previous owner did it). I have a '74 spoke front wheel/hub to put on the bike but it does not have bearings or internals. The front axle is the smaller 14mm style. According to Max Fiche, there appear to be two spacers that go in from each side and a center shim. This is different than a R100S with a 17mm axle that has one long pipe in the middle and a shim on one end. Does anybody have these spacers? Max wants $45 each for them. Is there any trick to preloading the bearing stack with the center shim? I'm considering buying one of the larger spacers and putting it on the lathe until the correct preload is met. Is that the right approach? Any other advice or tips would be appreciated. -josh

Hi group Happy New Year! After a minor rebuild of my Dellortos, I am unable to get any kind of idle. I’ve removed the carbs and using a thin wire ensured the idle circuit was clean and open. I’ve also used carb spray to soak carb passages. Still no idle. I’ve checked points gap and valve clearance. All seems within spec. I’d appreciate any suggestions on what I’ve missed or anything else I can try. Thanks for any input. Scott 1976 R90s

I am new here as well as a new R90s owner as of next week. I am going to change out the existing Dyna 3 ignition on this bike for a crank driven EME system bought directly from EME. Anyone here using this ignition on a R BMW? I have heard nothing but good feedback on it.

Ok guys, a conundrum: A friend is telling me the nipples that the choke cable go into at the choke lever for our R90Ss are unique to the R90S and are threaded whereas nipples for other applications are not threaded. Max BMW says this is the part number, and: "Nipple for choke cable, R50/5; R60/5; R60/6; R60/7; R90S." Part number is 13 23 1 260 368 Note that is says this part number is also for the R90S.
