Hi Bruce!!
Bruce: You and I are the only two members in the R90sWORLDNET "Club" so far. I just started this venture about two hours ago. Glad you decided to join. BTW the picture of the S from the Rally was mailed out about one hour ago so you should see it very soon. If you send an email to R90SWORLDNET@... (now that you are a member) you will be sending an email to every member of the group all at once. Neat, huh? That's the whole idea too. To make it easy to converse about R90s stuff. Save that email address in your addresses. This should be fun!!!! See you. Best, Mac Kirkpatrick Glenmoore, PA USA

R90S Litho by Alexander Dumas

After enjoying the Recent R90 S rally at Mac's, I dug out my copy of Alexander Dumas Print titled 'R90/S 1973" 60/100 and promptly hung it up. (no not in the family room) This Print is reportedly the second of a series. Anyone know who commissioned the drawing ? (a fine pencil/pen profile of the left side of the bike. Also what was the first print in this series. The gallery, Rainkin Motorcycle Interest or ANNAE in Knoxville has no current phone listing. Thanks Bruce Kramer

R90sWORLDNET News

Hello R90s Fans!!! Some of you are being sent this email as a courtesy to encourage you to join this list as you are avid R90s collectors or have expressed an interest in owning an R90s. You know who you are!!! Hi Ted, Ken, Marvin, Bill, Ronnie, Darrell and Brad and Kathy!!! Please go to www.egroups.com and join the R90sWORLDNET@... list to become a member of this "R90s only" list. Search under Recreation and then Motorcycle and request to join. Add the email address R90SWorldnet@... to your address book and join in by asking questions and offering help. We would love to have you as members. And EVERYONE.....Please tell other R90s enthusiasts about this list, the more the merrier and the better it will get. Now Some News: We have a total of 9 R90SWORLDNET members to date. Pretty good for only having started two days ago, I think. Some limited news about some of our members follows. I don't know much about some of you yet so please don't be offended if I omit something or say something incorrectly. But please correct me!!! And tell us about yourself soon. Just so you know Rick Griffith the current Pres of the R90s Club here in the US http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/bmwr90s/ has been handling R90s technical questions by himself and has felt like it was a lot of work and responsibility. With this list we now have the ability for all of us to help get folks' questions answered, especially once we get a lot more members, and we will get a lot of new members. The extent of knowledge on this list will be huge, just wait and see. And it will be a lot of fun. Ken Claus is the former Pres of the R90s club here in the US and is responsible for the R90s Club being in existence today as it almost went away for lack of interest some years ago. He has relinquished his Pres title but he is still a guiding light of the Club and is the Clubs' Treasurer. Kirk Ratzel is heading up the European contingent of the R90s club and is on this list. He is currently living in Paris!!! (Yea I know, I wish I was living in Paris too.) I am sure he has a unique look at the R90s scene in Europe. I enjoyed his recent article in the R90s Newsletter. Thanks Kirk. Frank Cachia is a list member also and Frank and I have traded emails for a long time, and he lives in Australia!!! He previously started the R90s Registry and it has a web site to visit http://www.ozemail.com.au/~r90s/ Go there and have fun. And a local to me here in PA is Joe Dille. If his name rings a bell you are remembing that the recent R90s Rally held at my house was his idea entirely. And he wrote the two recent articles in the BMW MOA News about fasteners, nuts and bolts. If you missed these articles (I believe there is one more article to come) go back and read them and you will know more than you ever wanted to ask about nuts and bolts. Very informative well written articles and great information. Joe and his eldest son Joey race go carts avidly and are quite good at it. Joe is very informed, sharing and a good source of information. He restored his immaculate Daytona Orange R90s which he rides most days, and I understand Joe has several patents to his credit. He also has an EML sidecar attached to a K100 which he assembled himself. Go to this link for more information on Joe http://home.jtan.com/~joe/joe.htm And we have an enthusiast lady member of this list who proudly owns her Daytona Orange R90s. Hi there Carolla in Pittsburgh. I don't know her well (yet!) but I think she works in the computer or information field. So I can use some pointers from her I am sure! She and her significant other Ted stayed at our house after the recent R90s Rally. I am not sure she has good taste in men!!! (Hi Ted:) I have taken some license by going ahead and sharing what I know about some of you. BUT you know so much more about yourselves than I do so please as the occasion arises on this list jump in and share with all of us something about yourself. This will allow other list members to know that there is a wealth of information on this list and it can only benefit all of us. I hope what I ha

Tire Temps/Tire Pressures/Real Virus!!!
Guys: Three Things. FIRST, below is a an excerpt from a message that Mark Sperber sent out on the Blueridgerunners list about tires. PLEASE NOTE: As you read the following snipped message it says that race tires do NOT require special time to warm up on the street to be effective!!!!! I have ALWAYS heard (many times!!) that race tires require special time on the race track to warm up before they will operate effectively and they cannot get properly warmed up in the street environment. For me this just shows that you can hear ANY argument about anything you want. Pro or con. Eggs are good for you, they are bad, chocolate is bad for you it is good for you, race tires are REQUIRED to be heated up to work properly or they will dump you, race tires are good for the street and do not require to be good and warmed up. All I want is truth in advertising!!!

Fame R90s Rally Photo

Andy Warhol , move over We (Us ?) R90S' owners are lookin for our few minutes of fame. And I'm ever betting that the bald guys in the pic (Mac, that leaves you out) are going to be contacted by Hollywood and City Bike for an extended interview, maybe ever a movie role in the remake of The Wild One or better yet The Great Escape ......Sigh! back to reality. Mini Trip report ,Oct 20 :I Rode the oilhead from Allentown Pa.to Port Jervis NY this am , (R90S in the basement ) and AT 6:45 AM , LET ME TELL YOU,IT WAS COLDDDDDDDD !! the bank clock/temp readout read 31*,with frost all around me as I headed up Rt 33 to the 209 through the Deleware Water Gap. I thought it was the longest sunrise ever I had ever experienced, and that along with a thick wet blanket of Delaware Water Gap fog surrounding me,and beating back the sun, I was sure I would never warm up. The ocassional wiff of a wood burning stove served to stimulate my brain with the thought of a fireplace and my numb fingers streached out at arms length in front of it.Never the less my hands were still cold as ...(Hell ?) but I still had a smile on my face. My reward came in the afternoon ...Sunshine, Fall Colors and a Beemer, you know the feeling....Ain't none better. (on a scooter that is). This weekend is gonna produce a few more of these days,so fire em up and enjoy. Bruce Kramer-Allentown
