Locked Re: Dellorto vacuum ports.

Richard,

Several years ago, a friend has a 1974 R90S with carburetors that didn't have the ports.

The Bing Agency installed ports for him.

You can purchase the needed parts to add these ports from Hermy’s BMW in Port Clinton, OA, last I heard. They are the US importer of D’ell parts.?
They added ports to my D’ells.?

The hole goes straight in - no angle.

Port:? 6mm in diameter and 7.8mm long.

Screw:? I don’t have the means to check the thread immediately, but it is ~3.8mm in diameter and has a 7mm hex head.

Hole depth:? I stuck a small screwdriver in the hole and it bottoms out ~39mm in, so subtracting the 7.8mm port length, that’s about 31mm to where that internal cavity ends (it’s close to the center plane of the carb).

I agree that functionality should dictate which way would be best to go.
For me, the value of past communications is related?to the content regarding specific topics. I would like the easiest way to enter a topic and see any past communications where members have shared their knowledge and experience on that topic. If merging all past messages into one 'site' would facilitate that function, I would be in favor of this.
Thanks for letting us all provide input here.

I think for ease of searching, it is advisable to combine them. ?At least for me, it’s not important where the information if filed, but rather that it is easy to find. ?Combining it, I presume, would mean a single search versus two separate searches.

Some of the threading is not perfect, i.e. ?you may see duplicate subject titles. I am still trying to make that better as the main problem stems from the way email handles replies and some of them are simply not correct in the file from groups.io. ?Still working on that.

If you are so inclined, the actual program I wrote is attached as well so you can check it out. ?I will likely keep tuning the conversion, but once I get a consensus that things are okay I will move it to the live server.
