It starts with .048¡± SS stock throttle cable and brass ferrules.
My '75 S has the original curved DelOrto tubes on it. The bike had very low mileage when I got it, and I believe that the throttle cables were original factory.? I noticed that the plastic cable liner was longer by about 1.5" than the outer cable, allowing the liner to line the tube.

I did have a cable break where it curves within the pipe while on a road trip and had to repair it MacGyver style it to get home. I wasn't able to find a BMW replacement cables to replace the broken one, however I had a set of BMW cables modified to match the length of my unbroken cable. Aside from weakening the cable due to the bend, I heard that a problem with the curved tubes is that the cable can cut through it after time. I lube the cable at the tube before rides to protect against it.?
