I'm looking at a 74 with under 30,000 Miles and I'm trying to confirm the mileage is correct. The first thing that jumped out was there are no white rings around either the speedo or tach.?
In Ian Falloon's book - BMW R90S, it says for 74 the speedo and tach featured a white outer ring. The tick marks on the speedo are the fat ones but I can't see the "W" ratio number clearly in the photos. I'm planning to see the bike today so I'll have that later.
Based on on Ian's book the VIN makes it an 06/74 build (US), which is the second to last month of US bikes.?My question is could this be legit, or did all the 74s have the white rings.
The documentation for the bike only goes back to 2005 so I can't confirm the progression of mileage prior to that.
Also, I was told the bikini fairing was replaced at some point. Again, I can't tell from the pictures if it's the 74 type with the mystery holes or a newer one, but I'll check today when I see it in person.?
