Re: Submitting a station after the event / report generation
开云体育Hi Tim>>To follow up on this, the xml provides the asteroid number and name (and orbit).? Does your tool calculate the mid time for the user which?is also needed in the file upload to SODIS. Yes, exactly. This is the same as other tools such as Occult would also do, when the XML file is imported there. I just created a testfile from OWC and imported that into Occult (Asteroid predictions > List & Display > Open...): >>I can see this idea could be elaborated to provide non dvti-cam users a means to fill the OW template, but would require another tool to merge the fields in two text files. (OW template and Occult XML).? ?Not too difficult for a programmer i would suggest, but seem to be over-kill for the purpose.?? You can also use the DVTI Cam Tool for this purpose, if you don't have such a camera. The tool is freely available. Just open it, go to the calendar, import an XML file and download the report (as if you have already observed the event). A lot of user specific fields are then missing, but basically the report is filled in with all the event data and can be uploaded into SODIS. You then need just to update all the other fields on the SODIS screen manually. Here how that looks with my testfile for an event of this evening: which will create the prefilled SODIS report... Eventually you can also define first you personal settings under "Edit" so, that this will also be included in the report automatically. You just need to add the relevant entries than under "More" from the pulldown menu before creating the final report: I think that all should work, even if you don't have a DVTI Cam. But I have not fully tested that until the end ;-) >>Im looking forward to our "GB" dvti-cam user's impressions.? These will be shared on the UK group forum i expect. Yes, me too ;-) Regards, Stefan Am 08.02.2025 um 11:33 schrieb Tim

Re: Submitting a station after the event / report generation
Hi Stefan - no im not a DVTI user, but we now have a user in the UK ;-)
To follow up on this, the xml provides the asteroid number and name (and orbit).? Does your tool calculate the mid time for the user which?is also needed in the file upload to SODIS. I can see this idea could be elaborated to provide non dvti-cam users a means to fill the OW template, but would require another tool to merge the fields in two text files. (OW template and Occult XML).? ?Not too difficult for a programmer i would suggest, but seem to be over-kill for the purpose.??
It would be nicer if OWC could copy sites to OWD after the event.? This doent seem to happen.
?
Im looking forward to our "GB" dvti-cam user's impressions.? These will be shared on the UK group forum i expect.

Re: Submitting a station after the event / report generation
开云体育Hi TimIn the case when using a DVTI Cam, there is an option to import events also manually or based on an XML file. The XML file can easily be created on the OWC page by copy/pasting the relevant section into a textfile and then upload this file into the DVTI Tool. This section usually appears on the event screen, further down after the "Error Ellipses": Import of the XML file into the DVTI Tool: I used this procedure already a couple of times for special events or when for instance my location was too far away from the path and filtered out by OW. However I think you don't use a DVTI Cam, right? Regards, Stefan Am 07.02.2025 um 15:12 schrieb Tim

Submitting a station after the event / report generation
In a situation where i have received an observation, but they are not on OW,? i am unable to create a text report with OW, for import into SODIS.? ?This happens when i put out a request for observation, and someone who is not a regular occultation observer, responds.
?
I can add the observer in OWC, but im not sure this is propagate through to OWD (after the event).? ?I have already created a template for the observer in the OW template folder.? ?It just needs to be filled with the event details but i can't do this.
?
Any thoughts?

Thanks Oliver. I'll look there. Wasn't making much sense except possibly the mag limit which is 13. Star altitude 80°?? I don't recall setting OW up for my Dob. Re: Pushing an Event
Hi Bj?rn, Ask Andreas Schweitzer to contact me in regards to this. It should be possible DVTI to get the data directly from OWC. You'll need enter your user name and password for your account when OWC asks for it or you could delegate DVTI to remember your password. Hristo. Colored Data in OW Desktop
开云体育What is the meaning of the different data colors in the details pane at the bottom when selecting an event? It appears different for various events.some list star alt in
red. Some list duration or sun altitude in red. Others in black. Kenneth Drake |

Re: Pushing an Event
开云体育I think I've discovered the issue. the passwords for planning and OWC were different. I went back and did a password reset and now see the drop-down on a past event (31762) 1999 JB104 occults UCAC4 573-030396 on 2024-Dec-23 at 09:04 UT And can now show clouded out. A bonus is that now all my planned stations are populated. Thanks

Re: Pushing an Event
I want to right click and click no observation/clouds. Not fill the full form. But on v5.4.0.1, if I right click that event on my desktop, the only option is to fill out the full form. But there I get an invalid password error message even if I am logged into OWC. Kenneth Drake? On Sat, Dec 28, 2024, 05:20 hristo_dpavlov via <hristo_dpavlov=[email protected]> wrote:

Synchronization error
Goodmorning,
I'm Luca and I'm an astronomy student at Padua University. I've been using this software for an academic study since last April. IN the last month it has started to give me a synchronization error when I run the software. When I switch my windows computer on the software is already running in background and when I open it it takes few minutes for completing the synchronization and then it fail giving the error in the bottom left corner of the screen. I've tried to uninstall and install again the software but it still fail the synchronization. I've also tried to check in the use's manual and they suggest to synchronize manually, but it still failing. The last date I can predict it is around 17/12/2024. I really need this software (or another that let me predict asteroidal and cometary occultations) for an academic research program.?
Thanks to all of you for your kind help.
?
Best regards
?
