Hi Richard, and everyone who made helpful suggestions.? First I increased the Alt axis limit from 60 to 80 and transferred this updated file in the configuration program to the scope. Then I've just performed some daylight "GOTO" tests using my mobile phone strapped to the central truss and with the Stellarium app running. After a virtual 2-star alignment (not a perfect score), I then performed some GOTO commands to various objects involving clockwise and anti-clockwise azimuth slews and up and down altitude slews. And bingo the problem now seems to be resolved, GOTO gets to where it is sent without the need to press the GOTO button repeatedly.? I noticed that the meter reached a maximum of around 2A on the power supply when the scope was at full GOTO speed.? I think before it never went much above 1A.?
I won't tinker any more for the moment and see how the scope works in a real night-time session.
