Hawaii no longer has regular railroads, but a couple of tourist lines use the rights of way of older lines. The Hawaiian Railway uses a few miles of the Oahu Railway west of Pearl Harbor. The Oahu Ry. once served the docks and industries in downtown Honolulu, interchanged with the Navy's railway at Pearl Harbor and ran along the island's west shore to the north shore and served sugar plantations along the route. Now only a few miles remain to haul tourists on weekends.
Robert Pisani took this photo of the Hawaiian Railway's excursion train at the line's end of track along the Pacific.
