SP bought 3 GP40P-2s to replace the last of the F-Ms on the commutes.? They worked with the GP9s and SDP45s until Caltrain got their own equipment in 1985.? Often a mid day train with 2 or 3 cars would have 1 GP9, while rush hour trains would have 2.??

I know I'm grave digging a bit here but I found it fitting that the day after this was posted I saw a SP GP on a commuter train on a twitter account I follow, ment this whole time to bring it up. It wasn't a 9 but close enough I could picture a 9 doing so.?
