As a boy, when I read about the Stockton and Darlington, I thought it ran near me!??
I was also a bit confused about the Sound of Music, how did the Trapp family get from Australia to Switzerland??? Then I found Austria on a map and got that bit, but wondered how Captain von Trapp was a naval commander for a country that didn't have a coastline?? The Nazis wanted a guy who'd run boats on the Danube River???? Eventually I understood about the size of Austro Hungary before 1918, but as a kid, there were some mysteries that took a bit more knowledge to overcome.??
