Local reckons screen time is switched on - I never turned it on so I’ll have to go find how to turn off in Prefs. Must have done it when I went to Monterey us all I can think.?

Yes I got several friends into Macs who were being left out of the loop - I had a spell there at one time diving all over town down here being support person ?:-) My friend Sharon who is very dyslexic has probably benefited the most. She recently bought a new Mac and I went over to sort some things with her photo library for her, and unfortunately just got a dreadful terminal diagnosis. ?But these days you don't even get a phone book down here so you need something smart to even get phone numbers.?

I have just added Face ID to Apple Pay but of course have yet to complete a purchase with it. I’ve already paid for the new iPad we plan to collect on Monday. Harvey is to take over my current iPad Air 2, as he took over my previous iPad Air when I bought the 2!
I have not so far had a problem with using Face ID but I only have it on my iPhone, not my iPad; I never thought of using it for that, as I don’t use it to make purchases or browse my bank accounts. Best

When I set up my new iPad Pro I just had to lay my iPhone on top of it and it did it all itself — plus I set up the keypad as I figured the face recognition would be a nonsense, and I also had learned it only worked vertical. ?I just think its a bit daft to remove the thumbprint thing because it works just fine.

Is this your phone’s passcode, the one you enter to start it up? I cancelled and just paid with my card in the usual way but obviously want to be able to use AP. I must confess, I did resign myself to that not working, although I think there is an alternative Face ID you can set up for a mask. I have not tried it yet but as things are grinding on it may become necessary. Best Susan
