I think that it was worse than that, Susie. ?I studied it a bit when undertaking a MA in War Studies and the general view of the author that I read was that Thatcher led the Junta to think that Britain was uninterested in the South Atlantic, and then failed to read the warning signs when they came. ?Taking back the Falklands was a fantastic feat by HM Armed Forces at the time, but it should not have been necessary.

Yes, it was gutsy stuff, and quite effective, even though the poor old Vulcan missed the runway with all but one of its bombs (dumb bombs, aimed with a radar plot).

The Chinook is quite a beast and quite manoeuvrable, even at that size and weight. ?I had a trip in one a couple of years ago . . .

Well a Chinook is a flying schoolbus. It can carry a lot of weight! But it is agile & as monouverable as crap!
