Hi Amy,

This keystroke certainly works in Outlook2016 all the time as I use it
frequently. It is quite possible that your colleague uses a different
version of Office where this is done differently?
Another keystroke that works in Outlook2016 is Alt-H, followed by L.

My husband uses Office365 and he says he is able to get to the Sort options
by tabbing/shift-tabbing.

Hi Jean,

If the Auto completion is what you are referring to, try the following:

When you start to type the e-mail address and you hear the one you want to get rid of, press Shift + Del key to delete that item from the cache. That works for me and I am using Outlook 2016.

Hello,

Thanks for the response. This keystroke does not do anything. It works for calendar, notes, to do and mail. But nothing for the address book. I’m using JAWS 2020. So do I need to press a pass through key to get to the address book?

I found an easy way, if you have an e-mail from the person/list serv for
whom you want to create the rule. 

1. Open the message
2. Press alt followed by H, then R, then R again.  
3. You will see a message something like: "Always move messages from ??"
where the ?? is filled in with the address from the sender. 
Press enter if the information is correct. 

4. Once you've pressed enter on the above #3, you will be able to choose
which folder you want the messages to be saved to.  
The last folder used will appear, but you can either arrow up and down to
find the folder you want, or use 1st letter navigation.

I can do this in other e-mail programs but never learned with Office 365.
Is there a good solid tutorial that covers this.
In fact I just thought that perhaps Brian Hartgen does cover this in his two
outlook tutorials.

Ron,

Office 2019 is the latest edition of Office with what is known as a perpetual license, meaning that you buy it for a one time fee, install it and it essentially works for as long as you'd care to use it. I don't know when the next edition for a perpetual license is scheduled for release but Microsoft seems to release a new edition every three years since 2007. This means that we will likely see a new edition with Office 2022.

Since 2021 is almost upon us, is the MS office suite 2020 and or 2021 out and are they jaws friendly?
Or should one stay with office suite 2019?
I don't want to go to office 365.

And one more option (applying to messages from individuals not individuals from lists),

On the message with the address you want to add:

Press enter to open the message
Press Control-End to get to the last line in the message;
Press End to get to the end of that last line (not sure why but it seem to be needed for me)
Press tab twice to get to the sender address (the first press of tab gets to the subject line);
Press the application/context key;
Arrow down to “Add to contacts list” and press Enter
Fill in fields tabbing to the next and when finished.
Press Control-S to save and escape to get out.

Press alt f then e

Select the entry type – new contact

Tab to put this entry in contacts

Tab to OK and press space bar

Untitled contact ?full name

Tab and put info in fields you want

Keep tabbing to where it says email edit ?blank

Press alt s to save

Press escape to get out of that.
