Re: FW: [nvda] FW: Free Webinar: The Windows Screen Reader Primer, 4th Edition Launch
I forgot to mention that I was successful using Jaws 2025 and Firefox.
I have not tried filling out the form with other screenreader and browser combinations. But again, change the country and you can then pick a province etc. |

Re: FW: [nvda] FW: Free Webinar: The Windows Screen Reader Primer, 4th Edition Launch
开云体育I’m in Canada and just registered with no problem. Change the country to Canada by manually deleting “United States” and typing Canada in the field, and you can then pick a province and enter your postal code. ? There are two unlabelled radio buttons on the next screen though so this form does have a couple of quirks. ? Chris ? |

Re: Issue opening File Backstage View using Alt + F in Word 365.
开云体育Hi Robin, ? You’re a genius! I just opened a Word .doc where I had the issue not being able to pull up the menus with alt-F. I did a Windows Key+up-arrow and whalah! Problem resolved. I was also having an issue with navigating with the up-arrow key; at a page break it was not allowing me to continue moving back up. Doing windows-key+up-arrow also corrected this issue. I’m not sure how or when I might have issued a key stroke that altered the saving menu and navigation, but thank you for giving me the fix. ? Eileen ? ? Re: Issue opening File Backstage View using Alt + F in Word 365.
开云体育Brian, ? When I just press the alt key alone, Jaws states “menu Bar”, but then I cannot arrow or tab either left or right. I can only down-arrow through system settings. This behavior is very strange and only started about a week or two back when I first noticed it. As I work on this email in outlook, when I press alt here Jaws says, “virtual ribbons, message tab” which if I recall correctly, Jaws would state “virtual ribbon” in Word before things changed. ? Issue opening File Backstage View using Alt + F in Word 365.
Hi All, ? I’m using MS Word that is a part of my Microsoft 365 package on a Win 11 computer using most recent version of JAWS. ? I’ve been having an issue when in a document in Word. I make changes/edits then when I attempt to get to the Save options under the file menu, I can’t pull up the File menu any longer with keystroke Alt + F.? I? can only save by doing a Control+S.? Anyone have thoughts on what has happened that I can no longer pull up the menu with Alt+F anymore? ? Thanks for any pointers. ? Eileen ? |

Re: Microsoft Office 365 Outlook Classic
The Ctrl + Tab (and, of course, Ctrl + Shift + Tab to reverse direction) is another excellent choice.? It has a traversal cycle of:? Control Tabs List (mail, calendar, etc.), Folder Tree, Message List.? This is a technique that's new to me (we all tend to land on one we know and like, and then use it, and mine is generally F6).
?
As Alan Robbins noted, if you're in the message list for any given mailbox, hitting Ctrl + Shift + Tab will throw focus back to the Folder Tree with the current mailbox being the actual folder with focus.

Shannon,
?
Have you tried NVDA or Narrator?? Do they behave in the same way as JAWS?? This could very well be a JAWS problem, and the easiest way to rule that in or out is to use an alternate screen reader to see if the behavior persists or does not.

No, it doesn't.? Ctrl + Y brings up the Go To Folder dialog.? If you select a folder here and hit OK, you do NOT end up with focus in the folder tree, but in the message list for the folder selected.
?
The original query:? "?I can’t seem to bring back the folder list so I can actually delete some folders."? You cannot gain focus on the folder tree itself with the Go To Folder dialog, you gain focus on a chosen folder's message list.? This does not allow you to start deleting folders afterward.? You still have to navigate to the folder tree itself, first.
