Re: Margin and paragraph questions regarding Word

Here's a note I've save, hope it
helps.
From: Adrian Spratt
I use the paragraph dialog for this purpose. “Paragraph” is one of those misleading MS terms because this dialog can be used for an entire document or for selected passages. Here’s how it works. ?
?
It sounds like you want all paragraphs in your document to be indented automatically by half an inch. So?? ?
Control-a for select all.??
?
Applications key, or shift-F10.?
?
P for paragraph, even though you’re formatting the
entire document.?
?
Tab five times to a list you access via the up and
down arrows. Right now, it is likely set at 0.0. Up arrow five times until you
hear “0.5.”?
?
Press enter.?
?
That will ?work for the current document. If
you want to make this format your default for all future Word 2010 documents,
keep open or reopen the paragraph
dialog and tab until you get to the default checkbox. Here, I wouldn’t end by pressing enter, but keep going until you reach the Okay button.? ?
In this same dialog, you’ll find spacing, margins
and many other essential format features.?
?
Another nice feature of this dialog is that you
can change the format for specific paragraphs or passages within a document. For
example, if you have a
quotation you wish to set off separately from the rest of the text, highlight that passage, press the applications key, then p, then go through the options. In this case, I bring the paragraph indentation down to 0.0, indent both the left and right margins by 0.5, and select single spacing. I then tab to Okay. ?
Adrian??

Subject: [office-accessibility] Margin and paragraph questions
regarding Word When formatting an exercise for my potential job, I need to indent the first line of a new paragraph to 0.5 inches. No problem, just press Tab, right? Well, when I did that, the person reviewing my work said the margins got all messed up. When I did an insert F, things sounded normal, though. Also, how do I get everything moved over to the left in a document? When I do an Insert F on another document I'm working on, it says left indent of 1 inches. It's only part of the file, but I want to select the whole thing to make it universal. I tried, but MS Word crashes. It's a big file. Could that be a problem? And what's the difference between justified and left anyhow? Thanks, Chelsea |
Re: Margin and paragraph questions regarding Word
Sherry Salsbury
The difference between Align Justified and Align Left is Align Left is everything is aligned to the left margin, no extra spaces added to the document. Whereas, Align Justified is the Left and Right margins are aligned straight and extra spaces are added to each line to make the margins straight.

Automatically adding previously used addresses to the address book in Outlook2016
Geetha Shamanna
Hi all,
Unlike Outlook Express, MS Outlook does not automatically add previously used addresses to the address book. IN Outlook2016, is there a setting that one can configure in order to get Outlook to do so? All the previously used addresses otherwise disappear when one migrates an email account and the corresponding .PST file to another computer. Many thanks. Geetha |

When composing a new email message using Outlook, the email addresses that appear below the "To" field after typing in a few letters are previous recipients, not names in your address book.

The way you describe is exactly how it has functioned for me for quite a while. Once I have entered a few letters of a name that should be recognized, I just arrow down, if there is more than one name in the list of names. For example, if I enter "Jo", the list of names might have Tom Jones, John Smith, Fred Johns, etc. I arrow down the list and hit enter on the one I want. If I arrow down, and there is no name read by JAWS, then there is likely just one option, so I hit tab, then shift+tab to confirm the correct name was put into the "To" field. If there is an easier way to deal with this, it would be great to learn. -----Original Message-----
