Re: HPCL-2232 LIB or SUB file
I know I shouldn't have washed my hands. They are not doing what I want them to do.

Thank you for posting the link to the message Mike posted when the alternate solver was first released. A couple of tidbits in the message were especially interesting. One, "It is the hardest for other programs to duplicate." Two, "Basically two copies of the executable in LTspice" You must have a super memory to be able to recall a message that old in the LTspice message files. Hello Mike, When you search in the mentioned "all_files.htm" you will find this place below. Files > Lib > Potentiometer > potentiometer.zip Just unzip it in a folder and run the example schematic(.asc). The zip-file contains the symbol potentiometer.asy and a subcircuit potentiometer.sub. Copy these two files into the folders of your schematics if you need a potentiometer. Best regards, Helmut |
Re: potentiometer
Indeed, there is no potentiometer as a standard schematic symbol, built into LTspice. Does anyone know where I can find one?Sure. You can find them in the [LTspice] YahooGroup. Oh wait, that's where you are! Many people have created them already. If you really need a pot. symbol on your schematic, search this forum and you will find them. You can search through the message archive, but that would be tedious. I recommend downloading and opening this file: Files > Tables of Contents > all_files.htm and then search for "potentiometer.asy" or just "potentiometer". If you don't actually need the symbol, remember that a pot. is just two resistors in series. You can get by with just a pair of resistors and it will simulate exactly the same. Regards, Andy |

Re: Convergence Problems.
This problem is solved now. Thanks for your input. The problem is I was using the old Fairchild KSA and KSC models for the 3503 and the 1381. I replaced these with a different transistor and the sim ran ok. Then I replaced just the one back to the original device, it ran, but it was wrong.

I found some updated models on the web that have solved it. I also understand that Fairchild have updated these models now, so they should converge. --- In LTspice@..., "Helmut" <helmutsennewald@...> wrote:

PSpice has not one iota of a problem with that circuit. Perhaps the problem is the 1N4148 model... was it a full diode model, or the idealism that LTspice uses to speed up switcher simulations? -Jim Thompson |
