Re: SX-62 FM respons
It has been recapped, and seems to receive well on both AM and FM, but audio quality is poor on FM broadcast on all stations. Have tried to improve the FM alignment, and have not had any improvement.

I don¡¯t have a SX-62 but have heard about them. The audio should be superb with FM reception. Sent from Proton Mail for iOS

Re: SX-62 FM respons
The FM on the SX-62 should give you great audio quality. If not, the FM IF chain may need re-alignment or something else is wrong. 73 - Steve, KW4H Sent from Proton Mail for iOS

For some reason I could not get the SX-62 to play FM broadcast as good as a cheap table radio, I was disappointed that a radio as nice as the 62 couldn't beat a tabletop. I have 2 of them, both pretty

Re: rare rig on auction
I *saw* one in operation decades ago (I was a teenager) when the Indianapolis Radio Club visited the Hallicrafters plant in Chicago... one of the employees had it in his car, and made a DX contact.

Re: S-40a speaker
What I have was published by Hallicrafters,? not Sam's? The earliest model was the S-40, the S-40A is a later model.? The S-40-B is redesigned and has significant differences from earlier models.?
