bounce and non-existent domain

I have a recurring problem where messages from a particular user get bounced and if enough of those happen, my account gets put into bounce status. (The bounces are not with my ISP but from a third party they hired to filter incoming email: Vade Secure.)

Not having any actual messages from that user I had to get his email address from a reply. Checking that shows a complete DNS lookup failure. Whois has nothing on destacgroup.de and ping fails.

Surprisingly, an email to his address hasn't resulted in a failure message. Or a response from that user.

So I am wondering what the problem is. groups.io seems to have no problem with that email address but there is clearly something wrong with it.

David -- At some point, username @ destacgroup.de may have been a valid email address, and the domain was later abandoned. I guess it could also happen by some convoluted sequence of Direct Add and social media login, although I cannot fathom how he would ever set a password.
?
In any event, as long as the same subscriber can manage to stay logged in, he can continue to send messages using that email address by composing them on the web interface. The frustrating thing is - without any valid email address on file - there's no way for anyone to contact him privately. Something would have to be posted to the group itself, which isn't exactly optimal.
?
Three suggestions:
-- Contact the group admins yourself, explain your hardship, and petition them to kick the guy off the group. (They won't be able to explain why, but too bad.)
-- Get a new email address yourself, with a new provider who doesn't do nameserver lookups, or
-- Switch to digest delivery in that group (so the From: line contains the groups.io domain instead).
?
I hope one of those helps.
