Hi, We're an all volunteer dog rescue organization currently using the free groups.io. We've been using it awhile and seem to have a legacy account which gives us more features than the current basic account. However, we keep running out of room in 1 particular subgroup and then have to do a lot of shuffling in order to add more files to keep up with the growing number of dogs we take in. Other than pricing, is there anything we should be concerned about? If at some point we can't continue to afford the fees, will we be able to easily downgrade to basic again? And if so would it be the current basic or to the legacy account we currently have? I haven't been able to find anywhere to ask these questions of a groups.io employee, but if you have an email or number that would be very helpful.

I don't see a "pay" button on the billing page. Does groups.io just automatically charge the card you have on file? Thanks.

Establish different owner email address for 2 owned groups

Hello, I'm relatively new to groups.io but and I'm already owner of 2 different sites, and a member of 4 other sites. I recently started growing one of the new sites, and saw that my email address associated with it was not what I wanted to be so I instituted a change, which merged the sites and now all the groups I belong to or manage all reflect the same email address for me. I would like to have 2 distinctly different email addresses for me associated with the 2 sites I am the owner of. Is this possible, and if so how would I implement that? Thanks! Mark

Problem with Payment Method HELP NEEDED

I went to update payment method as the CC is no longer valid. After what I thought was a successful update, I went back to billing and there is no payment method shown. I click on payment method and it only takes me to the home page for the group. I also have $135 in the reserve to go towards payment. I want to post a bug in the Beta group

I want to post a bug in the Beta group, but don't see a way to create a message to them. We are a premium group. I have an issue with the calendar. After deleting a meeting the reminders were sent out even though the meeting had been cancelled a week earlier. This has happened twice now. -- Ruth D

changing members name as a mod with privilages

Hi all Several times I have been asked to change a members name. I don¡¯t know how to do this any more Use to be that I could just enter on the name, hear ¡°edit¡± and I would be able to do this. Now I don¡¯t hear the ¡°edit¡± option to do this So can someone instruct me on how to change members name? Or if it could be the way it was before any changes, if any? Sorry. Use to be simple to do not it¡¯s a bit challenging for some of us who are not as ¡°savvy¡±/ Thanks Sugar

Hello When trying to add some email addresses with Direct Add, we got a few errors including some email addresses flagged as "inactive user" I've done a search for this term in the Group Owners Manual but got zero hits. So I'm at a complete loss as to what this indicates exactly. Can anyone fill me in please? Thanks

Change my email address?

Where in the owners¡¯ manual can I find instructions on how to change my email address? I am the owner of a group I started in November 2019. I only want to change my email address, not my status as owner, not my username, not my ¡°joined¡± date and status, . . . just my email address. Is this possible? And, once I¡¯ve completed that, I want my email in the GroupManagersForum to also move over to this new email address. Advice? Randy

How to add Owners/Moderators when Owner has died

Hello, folks. I'm hoping someone can point me to information on replacing a deceased group owner with one or more owners/moderators. We unexpectedly lost our group owner recently, and I can't find anything on the IO groups material for how to add an owner when the original owner has died. Thanks. Hello I have a question from our programmer about GroupsIO. He has configured GroupsIO to send him individual messages with an #Escalate tag that we have created but... "I still get no email notifications for messages marked with the #Escalate hashtag. I guess groups.io is not configured internally to send such notifications if I configure my account to send daily digests instead of individual messages. If you can ask the support why that is, it would be greatly appreciated" Can anyway answer his question please? Thanks and a Happy New Year to you all Dave Neve (SafeTex)

Can't Sign In as Admin on an iPad

I'm owner/admin of a free legacy group that I started a few years ago. I recently started experiencing a strange problem when trying to manage the group using my iPad. When I log in, my group shows me as an ordinary member & there is no Admin area shown (yes, I am logged in with the correct username & password). I have the same problem in both Firefox or Safari. Clearing the history in either browser and logging out and back in does not correct the problem. When I first ran into this, I noticed the option on my group's home page asking me if I "Wanted to Join". I clicked on that and then it indicated that I was a member. At that point I received a new member welcome message. I also received a message on my phone (as Admin) showing my username as a "new subscriber" that had just joined my own group! While logged in on my PC or Android phone, everything looks normal as a group owner. I have access to the usual Admin functions, but my username now shows up under "Members" as a "New Member Moderated". I'm afraid to delete this, or even log out on my phone or PC, as I'm concerned that I might become locked out of my group as owner/admin. Does anyone know what's going on ????

Joining Anomaly

Hi Folks, I moderate a group which I don't own, and have the account set up so anyone wanting to join requires approval, which comes through me and at least one other person. I recently received notification that 'so and so' has joined your group... but I never received an approval request prior to his joining. I've checked with the others who also have admin privileges in this group, and they didn't get a join request notification either. Looked a little more closely and found this: I'm guessing *someone* issued a direct invitation to join the group. I have a couple of questions: first, why aren't group moderators pulled "into the loop" when a someone issues a direct invite, or when the invitee accepts that invitation and becomes a member? Second, why is the person who issued the invitation not indicated? I'm in a situation where I'm charged with keeping on top of things with this group, and I find myself with no idea of how this person obtained admission to the group. I've checked all the settings for this group (the ones that are available to me, at least), and didn't see anything pertaining to permissions to directly invite someone to join the group, or notifying group moderators of this fact. I DO see that only group owners and/or moderators can issue join invitations, so at least I don't have to worry that group members can be issuing invitations to anyone and bypassing group moderators altogether. My concern here is not that *I* have been somehow bypassed, it's that such a bypass can happen at all; it's definitely created concern that someone may have found a back door into this group at least, and maybe others. Wondering if this is someone exploiting an unnoticed vulnerability or loophole. Any thoughts / clarifications greatly appreciated! Karl

Sent Invitations sort order

Hi, I noticed that the "Sent Invitations" list does not by default show recent transactions, and even if sorted by "Invited" the entries are not strictly in order. Is this intended? Attached are two screenshots, showing the default view and after clicking the "Invited" column header twice (the first time sorts oldest first). Note in the sorted view the most recent transactions are in the 1st and 4th positions, separated by Accepted and Expired entries from days or weeks in the past. -Jim

Members no longer able to upload files ? Do not the the "Green" button

Hello our group has a premium plan but I just learned today that members do not see the "green button" for uploading files in the file section. I still see it and did not realize there is a problem. Our account is up to date and we have a premium plan and are nowhere near the max storage limits. Any suggestions? I have been searching "upload" in the message archive and have checked "owners manual" Thank you John Abbott eternity2 users group

Members being erroneously unsubscribed

Has anyone else seen this? I've had a number of members who were somehow unsubscribed through no intervention of their own, nor by any of the moderators. Yesterday it happened again. I asked the member if she had gone to her settings page on the web and she said no. Yet the activity log entry says "name <email address> left via web." She received a message saying You have been unsubscribed from [email protected]. You will receive no more emails from that group. If this was a mistake, you can resume your subscription within the next 7 days by clicking the following link: Resume Subscription Regards, The [email protected] Moderator I am mystified. Pete
