Turn off Moderation
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTeam- I¡¯d like to turn off moderation for all members.? I see how to turn it off for individuals under Members/Posting Privileges, but I¡¯d like to just turn moderation off for all approved members.? Is there a single toggle for that? ? Thank you! Actually that¡¯s how I have it, but I still get lots of emails daily with the subject ¡°Message Approval Needed¡±:Okay, check in Admin, in Activity, Message Activity to see why the messages are being moderated. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi- I checked, and the messages needing moderation say that they are ¡°requiring approval because the topic is moderated via email¡±. This is happening on an emails that are definitely part of the group and have no alias... ? Thank you! Scott Mohr- Information Systems Manager Chowchilla Elementary School District ? Then you need to turn off moderation in that topic. Make sure you are in topics view (/g/GROUPNAME/topics). Topics that are moderated will display a small balance or scale just before the subject line. Click the down-arrow and select Unmoderate Topic. I've circled both in the screenshot below. Scott, I find it puzzling. You find that all topics are moderated, but your group is restricted and members are unmoderated. There is a setting that automatically sets this: Moderate Topics Older Than [n] Days To put topics on moderation automatically after a specific length of time, select this checkbox and specify the number of days after which topics should be moderated.
Note: The moderation becomes effective overnight, U.S. Pacific Time, after the specified number of days have elapsed.

There is also this setting: Messages that start new topics are moderated Only messages that start new topics must be approved before they are posted to the group. Messages that are replies to existing topics do not need to be approved.
Hashtags can cause moderation. I think you need to carefully look at your group settings. -- GMF wiki for help.?Search box at the top of each page. Check out the?new groups.io Help Center??Use your browser to search or download?the PDF. |

Thank you Bruce- I can see that all topics are moderated.? In this group we don¡¯t need that- how can I turn that off for all topics, all members?Scott -- Based on what you've sent us so far, the group is not moderated, but topics are getting moderate without your intervention. On that basis I can only guess that you've previously set up the group to moderate topics after some period of time. Go to Admin>Settings, click open the Message Polices tab, and uncheck the box indicated in the screenshot below. Be sure to save your changes. Any existing topics that have already become moderated due to this setting will have to be manually changed back using the instructions I previously sent you. Hope this helps, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |
Thank you Bruce- I did uncheck that box and will see how it goes.? The group is pretty quiet today but I¡¯m sure that¡¯s what it was. Thank you! ? Scott Mohr- Information Systems Manager Chowchilla Elementary School District ?
