Menu Column on left below Home not displayed
Dear Support,
One of my initial new users of a new forum is claiming that they cannot see the menu column below Home.? Is this an issue with perhaps an old or unusual OS and browser.? The user may not be very IT skilled, so I am keen to advise and support.? They may not even understand OS and browser. Thank you for your help. Regards, Martin |

Is this an issue with perhaps an old or unusual OS and browser. Many of the instructions given here in GMF assume a full-size screen. Screen widths narrower than 960 pixels are considered "mobile" by groups.io. One of the effects of is that the left-side menu bar collapses into a More "hamburger menu." See example below. Site navigation can be a little more clumsy on phones and small tablets.? It could also be that the subscriber is simply not logged in. Send them to?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Logging-In?for instructions. Beyond that, providing a screenshot would be useful to help us troubleshoot. Regards, Bruce |
Dear Support,GMF is not the official 'Support', it is users (generally Owners and Moderators) helping other users but you are asking at the right place One of my initial new users of a new forum is claiming that they cannot see the menu column below Home.ARE THEY ON A MOBILE PHONE? On an iPhone there is no left hand columns, but a menu bar below with the choices: -If I am not logged in: "More" when I touch "More" the left hand menu appears. -If I am not logged in: "Messages", "New Topic", "Chats", and "More" when I touch "More" the left hand menu appears. To log in, one must touch the 'Hamburger menu' (the 3 horizontal bars to right of the word "Groups.io in the blue band/bar, near the top of the screen) ARE THEY ON A TABLET? On an iPad the left hand column only contains "Home", until they log in (Log In is near the right end of that "Groups.io blue band/bar, near the top of the screen) How to Log In Without a Password to a Groups.io email List: (for Messages, Calendar, Photos, Files, etc archives; to change your email address or delivery setting; and more) /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Logging-In Is this an issue with perhaps an old or unusual OS and browser. ON A TABLET:What's special about a tablet in this respect? A standard desktop PC behaves in the same way. More correctly the column shows what the group owner has decided will be visible to non - members or members who are not logged in, and that might include Messages / Hashtags / Wiki. Chris |
