Registration is an optional Zoom setting and is not specific to using the Zoom integration via a Groups.io calendar.? The first time you use the Zoom integration on Groups.io you need to specify and give permission for Groups.io to access your Zoom account. Zoom is then listed in your Account profile under Account > Other services. Having used the Zoom integration a few times I can tell you the current version: - Only seems to work with Personal Meeting Ids - Does not support repeating meetings - Adds a #Zoom hashtag to the meeting subject but it is not then added to the list of hashtags for the group. Hope that helps. Regards, Andy |

From what I can tell, when you use the GIO calendar to set up a zoom meeting, the process creates a registration link that requires people to provide their names and email addresses. However, it doesn't appear that these registrations are then provided back to the creator of the meeting. You can see an example here:??

Re: Calendar reminders not sent at correct times
I have this problem on at least 2 repeating calendar reminders.?? Below are captures of the event schedule and the reminder schedule.
The reminders are actually being sent exactly 5 minutes before the event starts (verified by viewing the headers in the T-bird "source") instead of 1 day before the event. This has been consistent within seconds. I note that this COULD be related to the fact that at 9PM Eastern time local DATE and UTC Date would be off from each other so if the date conversion is off (using local time but UTC date) then the time of day is correct and I could set the reminder for 2 days prior rather than 1 day prior. HOWEVER: I have another event (also shown below) that is scheduled to have a reminder sent "3 days before" the event and it is consistently? being sent exactly 36 hours before the event. This can not be explained by the same logic as the previous example because at the time of the event local and UTC dates would be the same. ===================================================== ============================================================= ======================================================= ? Can't approve a message
One of my groups members, who is approved for posting messages, has edited one of his posts.? Groups says I need to approve and unmoderate the post.? When I try to do this i get the circle with a slash symbol, universal 'you can't do that' and the post remains needing approval before being sent.
I tried just approving it, without also unmoderating.? Tried doing and edit myself then approving.? Nothing works Just? a few innocuous phrases, about 3 sentences and a picture, which was there in the original post. Any Ideas on how to get this approved? Thanks, Gregg |

Now that's what I call clever, Bruce! I tried a single space but didn't like the look of it, so put Members in its place on all the albums.? And I'm happy with that. Many thanks, Hazel |

Jim,
Unfortunately not true. Some MUAs (e.g. Thunderbird) make "reply toHere's some more history on the subject: In short, the inclusion of List-Post proved problematic due to what I consider a Thunderbird bug*, but it was added back specifically for groups set with Reply To = Sender. It makes sense to me that List-Post should /not/ be included if the group is also set to "Remove Other Reply Options". Shal *The maintainers of Thunderbird do not agree. Last I looked the bug report was marked "won't fix". No they sure don't. In my mind you lose freedom of speech when you join any group no matter where i tis, whether it be on groups.io, mail man, free list, yahoo, google, or what ever, even on a forum. You follow the forum's guidelines, and if you don't like it, there's the virtual door. Some mods are quite relaxed whilest some are not. I do agree with the other points though, but I thought I would bring this statement up only. Take care all and happy what ever day it is, I'm exhausted. |

Maybe a good ploy is to put those non-compliant members on Moderation.Well maybe. If any individual or group of individuals (the "chiders") are put on moderation to prevent them "piling on and self-designating posts by persons they dislike as "political speech" then they may quickly resort to the use of Report this Message instead; bad enough if they report just to the moderators, intolerable if they report to Groups.io. I'd be tempted to opt for a (locked) topic on "civilised behaviour" and then remove them from your members list if any of them ignore the warning. Just putting them on moderation or banning them from posting still leaves the Report.. function open to them. Chris |

I would do 1. but not 2 a.which is not safe and you will regret. 2b, maybe.?
3 a. definitely not, 3b. and then lose a good moderator? If necessary work on the moderator a bit
more but leave the mod with their judgement and dignity intact at the expense of losing some of
your own. This is a very difficult one I would try to go with trying to be a mensch rather than
being right. Sleep on it.????
What I perhaps would do is set up an OT, Off Topic place for people to vent, away from the
main group. A sandpit or boxing ring concept with some rules like "nothing illegal' for instance;
but where politeness is not a necessity. And what happens in OT stays in OT.? This could be a
SubGroup of your main group or it could be another group.
?
You could check your maingroup Guidelines and if necessary modify them to not allow the
behaviour that you do not want. Agree the modifications between the existing Owners and
Moderators and apply them. Make them stick. disagreements or grievance must be moved to
the Subgroup. Unfortunately this means Moderation of all messages, and that will be a huge
task.
Maybe a good ploy is to put those non-compliant members on Moderation. Slow them down a
bit. Open it up again soon.
If set up correctly there is a method to put the entire group on Moderation for a while. Ask.
OK,
Tony??
