Re: Non member issue in log

If/when our group upgrades that will be the first thing I check out ?

Re: Premium group member is not receiving emails from the group

I have seen that thread and I have asked him the question. Waiting for his reply. However, as he has reported, he has not been getting any emails from the groups ever since it was ported over from Yahoo. So, this problem has been occurring for many months now.? Recently I had changed his delivery setting to digest form. That has made a difference. His problem may have been resolved. I see the following.?

Select "Past" from the blue pull-down menu at upper left. This is a paid feature and is not available to Basic groups.

Only Premium (or Enterprise) groups.? It's shown under the Features available for Premium and Enterprise groups only section of the Owners Manual.

File sync feature

Dear all,

I have a question about the file sync feature, described as follows in the (premium) group I manage:

?

"Upload a file containing the email addresses of all of the people you wish to be in your group. Any people currently in your group that are not listed will be removed, and any people in the file that are not in your group will be added. You will be taken to a confirmation screen before the sync occurs."

?

My question: is this feature only available on premium groups, or also on basic? And if so, does it work differently? I am guessing members not currently in the group wouldn't be automatically added but sent invites?

Andrew

Re: Online elections

Duane & Greg, Thank you. Your suggestions for online elections were most appropriate and appreciated by my group member. Your bylaw comments were especially helpful.

I agree. Giving the path to where the folder was created would be much more useful and consistent with file upload notifications.

Wording of "Added Folder" message to owner/mods #notifications

I had a member fumble around on one of the groups I shepherd, and got a lot of messages with the subject '[groupname] Added Folder Xxxxxx'.

The message body said 'Aaaa Bbbbbb added folder Xxxxxx'

The problem with this is it didn't mention *where* the member tried to add the folder. Complicating it was the fact that he added the same folder twice, presumably to different areas. It turns out he was trying to add a photos to a new folder to the Files area which the system is set to not allow, but I didn't sort out what had happened until later.

It would be helpful if that message mentioned in the body of the message which directory or subdirectory (sorry 'folder') where the attempted add was made. This would make it easier to understand the situation.

I'd like to post this on beta as a suggestion, but thought I'd mention it here first.

Re: new problem [with email content]

You don't give any useful information e.g.:
Have you checked your messages in your group's online archive to see iif the messsages contian the same black pages?
Are?all members who get email getting the same black pages or only some or only 1 or only you?
Could you accidentally have changed your email client to provide an unexpected? message style or signature?"

Unless you personally do some analysis and/or provide some more detail I don't see how anyone can help you.

I have not had the occasion to view a past member yet. How is that done?

Re: Non member issue in log

Steve, have you checked in Past Members to see if "SusiQ" is in there?

Re: Premium group member is not receiving emails from the group

Prasad, I'm new to this group, having been made an Owner of one of my doll collector groups.
Just a thought, has he tried unsubscribing, then re-subscribing to the new group?
Most Yahoo!groups I was subscribed to were abandoned long before the change-over, and had
already reestablished in new venues, including , Mewe, and Facebook. I like these groups
for the email connection, as I use individual emails, going to the site for viewing photos or other files.

Thanks. I checked his entry and could not find any badge like what you said. Only his email address shows up in the list. He has been a member since 05/17/2003 when he had joined the old Yahoo group. In fact, he even contributed to funding to make the move to Groupos.io premium. I want him to get the posts from this very active group. We get around 150 to 400 messages every month.

See?

Does he use one of these providers?? If so, GIO emails are reported to be flowing again.

Re: Non member issue in log

So last evening, a subscriber sent me a message that he tried to respond to a post and got a reject message.? I asked him to forward that to me and it ties to this issue.

The group subscribers email is something like this for example.??George1837@...

But his verizon is processing his email traffic using?SusieQ@...

Here's his reject message:

Subject: Failure Notice
?
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.
?
510: 5.1.1 Your email address, SusieQ@..., is not subscribed to that group. To subscribe, send an email to [email protected], or visit /groupname.?
Following that is a bunch of other stuff, but the above is the gist of it I think.

Note...i made modifications to some of specifics above for privacy sake.

He tells me that SusieQ is an old email address and he doesn't know how to fix that.

Re: Option not to receive one's own messages?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi Duane and Bruce,

Thanks for your replies.? While I assume it would be relatively easy to add an option not to receive one's own messages, I imagine that there would be an important objection to it - that if it was accidentally turned on, a great deal of confusion and likely repeated sending of messages would occur.

I looked at Google Groups and could no such option - but I am using an email account which is not gmail.

Correct, although it may apply to other providers as well.

I have this box unchecked in my account preferences and I still receive my own messages to groups.

Re: AT&T blocking Groups.io

It looks like mail started getting through some time between 8:45 and 9:15 PDT last night, at least according to email delivery histories on my groups.

Thanks. Very helpful.
So much more documentation now than when our group migrated over. Well done!

Look at Members list on desktop (not tablet).
I suspect that his line has an unusual "badge" (icon)
