Re: AT&T blocking Groups.io

It looks like mail started getting through some time between 8:45 and 9:15 PDT last night, at least according to email delivery histories on my groups.

Thanks. Very helpful.
So much more documentation now than when our group migrated over. Well done!

Look at Members list on desktop (not tablet).
I suspect that his line has an unusual "badge" (icon)
such as "F" (Following Only) or "NC" (Not Confirmed).

Verizon is another company hosted at Yahoo and, incidentally, owns Yahoo.
It's likely that Yahoo is the actual culprit.
They have perfected their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
I should credit a mid-1900s magazine, Datamation, for that quote in an article about the lawsuit between IBM and SperryRand.

Re: Non member issue in log

OK guys,? I too was considering an autoresponder scenario.??

I considered sending out a message to the group to see if anyone recognized the email causing the situation, but that might cause a melt down among some users.

My group is a bunch of retirees from age 60 on up and for some of them, just turning on the computer is a major technological accomplishment

As far as I see it's doing no harm, it just shows up in the activity log.? So I'll just let it go.

Mike -- Generally speaking, you will find action buttons located at the bottom of the page, and navigation buttons at the top.

By way of comparison, go to Admin>Members. You'll see several buttons along the top of the page. The button corresponding to the page you're already on is highlighted in blue. As you switch between them, different ones are similarly highlighted.

This convention is used throughout the groups.io web interface. Although it seems a little counter-intuitive, you will grow accustomed to it after awhile.

You can make that suggestion on the beta group so that GIO management is aware of it.? Otherwise it may never even be considered.

It really doesn't matter how clear the documentation?is.
I feel that's the reason for having documentation.? Now getting people to actually read it is another problem entirely.

Premium group member is not receiving emails from the group

I moderate a premium group that was ported over from Yahoo. A member who had joined in 2003 has just pointed out that he has not been getting any emails from the group. I checked his account and I don't see any bouncing issue. He is set up to get individual posts from this very active group. I changed him to get daily digest but still, nothing went out to him. Below is the screenshot of "Email Delivery History". What should I do next?

Re: AT&T blocking Groups.io

The only att.net member I have is showing a string of "blocked" messages (below) in her email delivery history. So I'm wondering why she isn't shown as bouncing?

Also, she received a series of the same message on Feb 6, so apparently this isn't the first time this has happened to att.net users.

groups.io replies go to spam/junk folder #spam

Hi, I am a moderator on groups IO hummerlist - a restricted group. I have searched GMF for similar but no luck.

I have a group member who says that
her OWN REPLIES to group messages go to her spam folder
when they should not. (This has been going on since the group transferred from Yahoo Groups in December 2019.)

The effect is particularly pronounced when she is replying to a certain member whose email address is @gmail.com
I have interviewed her to find the details and it does sound strange.
Can anyone throw light on the cause/s and a solution. Thank you Raphael

Details as follows:
User is a regular member of the group. email address: name@hotmail.com
Devices:
- Samsung S8 Android. Smartphone (Data package through Vodaphone UK)
- Macbook Air laptop. At home:
When home she always uses WiFi by TPLINK,??(It may be PPLINK)
Mail client is:
? on Mac App Store from Apple
store
Mail filters: She does not use any filters to auto file messages,
Mark messages as "Not Spam". User has been doing this for many months hoping to "Train" the "span filters" to recognise kosher messages. Specifically we are referring to spam filters that operate out there in the email transport universe.?
Mail server settings: I would happily supply these if relevant.
Protocol: IMAP or SMTP of POP3??I would happily supply these if relevant., I expect it will be IMAP

Thank you for looking

Re: Non member issue in log

Sounds like susieQ has an auto-response but with a different (from login)
email address. Groups sends a message out, the auto-reply is triggered but
has a different sender address (one char will do to be different). That
would be my guess.

Can you tell me how to turn off email notifications to moderators and co-owners that go out every time I make a change in my "housekeeping" sessions?

I just sent a message to a Verizon address with the intent to create a bounce, and it came back with a different subject line.

An autoresponder ("out of office" or some such) on Suzy Q's end thus seems to be the most likely offender.?

I have a relatively new member that creates a similar situation.? They use an email program that collects emails from several accounts, but only sends from one.? The one that sends isn't a member of the group and hasn't been set up as an email alias, so always shows non-member attempt.? I've tried to get them to set it up, but no luck so far.

In your case, I think it goes a step farther.? I'll guess that a member, who would receive group messages, uses a similar setup for collecting email, BUT they've set up an autoresponder which is immediately sending a reply.? One other thing I can think of is that their mailbox is full so the agglomerating account is sending an autoreply, but it may actually be a bounce message.? Since that account isn't a member, it just shows as non-member attempt.
