apparent blacklisting iiNet
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Email from my groups.io list to members with an @iinet.net.au address appear to be being blacklisted.? The following bounce message is being sent from iiNet: ? Failed - 554 icp-osb-irony-in3.iinet.net.au Your access to this mail system from 66.175.222.12 has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means. ? I have advised the recipient to contact iiNet to rectify this (but knowing how this can be a nightmare to change, since these blacklists are automated). ? Is there anything else to be done? ? Thank you Peter Cook |

Question about Deleting Attachments
If I delete a file that's attached to a message, and the file is also saved in the files section of my group, will it also be deleted from the files?
I don't want to inadvertently delete files that are necessary, but I also don't need to save duplicates in two different places. Thanks! Ginger |

Re: MAC questions
Frances, I make sure that any files in our files folders are uploaded as pdf files as I know many of our members don't have the ability to open docx files. As the devices are new to this member, I have a feeling she has some default settings in her devices that are causing the problems she is experiencing.

How do you post files on your site? As pdf's or as .docx? If the files are PDF's, they open in the window. If they are .docx's, they are downloaded to the Downloads folder. On an iPad, PDF's open in the same window and .docx prompt "would you like to download it". Frances ? -- Help available from Groups.io help and GMF wiki. ? |
MAC questions
One of my group members is having some problems with her membership using her IMAC computer and new Ipad. As I use a PC, I am not able to diagnose what is going on with her issues. Can someone here who uses those devices answer her questions?
This is what she is asking: "Is the site up to date with the latest ?Apple updates? ?I can look at photos, I can bring up the files, but cannot print the patterns on the computer. ?I can no longer bring up the files on the iPad, nor can I enlarge the photos so I can see the details everyone talks about. ?So very frustrating! ?That is on iMac and iPad both. Re: Comcast problems. Is there a **good** Comcast tech support communication method
I'll give it a try.? Thanks. In general I've found that the standard communication methods end up talking to a person who has a script ("you must go through this ten step router reset procedure" - that doesn't do anything about the problem) and knows nothing about complicated issues.? Steve

Re: Comcast problems. Is there a **good** Comcast tech support communication method
Unfortunately, I don't think you can use "good" and "comcast" in the same sentence. I administer a listserv?environment (real L-Soft listserv) and I have constant problems with perfectly legitimate posts being blocked by Comcast as spam, and no way to communicate with anyone about it. I advise my comcast subscribers to use a different email provider, at least for the list messages. L All, I searched the messages and found that Comcast seems to be a regular problem in various ways with Groups.io emails.? Is there reasonable communication method for Comcast where one can communicate with knowledgeable tech support to have issues resolved?? In brief,? my problem is this: By default, Comcast blocks all Groups.io invitation emails, discarding them so that the recipient doesn't have any way of seeing them.? More details: --

I started a new group for a sailing club.? The group will have over 100 people in it.? We are doing a dry-run with six board members to work out kinks, make sure we understand Groups.io, etc.? The problem I have is that **all** groups.io invitation emails sent to a comcast.net email address do not arrive.? Another post here ( /g/GroupManagersForum/message/31011 ) says that it is Comcast's default settings of **not** saving spam emails that makes it so the groups.io invitation emails are completely discarded without even going to the spam box.? Is there a reasonable way to contact Comcast asking them to **not** mark as spam groups.io invitation emails?? Interestingly, once the email account is subscribed through a different subscription method all groups.io list emails seem to not be marked as spam.? Comcast is only doing this for the groups.io invitation emails.? All other email accounts that I've sent to (Gmail, Yahoo, and Verizon) have no issues. Any help will be appreciated. Steve |
Re: No Email Formatting vsible
Thanks Frances,
?
I thought I had done this. But checked and 'strip all different fonts and colours from html emails' was ticked!? Don't know if that happened with an update, but all sorted now. FYI anyone needing to do this, it has to be done for each group you have, it's not a global setting.

Best,
