It's the way groups.io works.? Download opens the image by itself in a browser window allowing you to do what you want with it.? You should be able to right-click and either Save Image As... or Copy Image.

Based on the dates, this looks to be around the time that Yahoo was having server problems (persistent "soft" bounces). If the email address did not exist you would have gotten a different error.

Sending the bounce probe is the right thing to do. If the subscriber replies to it, that account will no longer show up as "bounced" in the member list. I don't think you will receive any email notifications but the unbounce might appear in the activity log, too.

In your most recent post you said That's why I suggested having a polls link in the left menu.Given that there is a lot to get "right" beyond finding where to start a Poll having "Polls" as a tab in the menu may not solve all that much anyway.

Clicking on download typically brings up the photo in another tab in your browser. From there, you can right click to save (download) the photo. If that isn't happening, you might have a pop-up blocker that is preventing that from happening.

Alternately, you can circumvent that unnecessary step if you just want to download by right clicking on the Download button and selecting the choice to save (download) the photo.

At least, that's the way it works for me on WIn 10 and the Chrome browser.

Yes, and most of our Group use it when uploading a file. Another recent (?) curiosity is that historically each upload generated a totally new message, but of late uploads have sent the notification as a posting to an"existing" upload notification.

If you see what I mean...

Just to add a bit of excitement I have rearranged the "Files" section to make things a little more orderly, which of course has screwed up all the links in the notifications. Don't think anyone relies on them, though.

changing a member's email address

Hello,

I moderate a hidden group and have been trying to change a member's email address. I'm using the free service, not the premium, since I am on a fixed income. I tried deleting the member by checking the member's name and expanding actions, then pressing enter on "remove" till the verify pop-up came up; I verified, and the member was deleted. I then tried sending an invitation, and the person responded, but the email address wasn't updated. I removed the person from the group, then asked the member to subscribe from the new email address, and send a message to groupname plus subscribe at groups dot io. The subscription worked, but the old email address showed up when I looked at the member list. How can I get that old email address out, and add the new email address? Would I have to upgrade to premium?

Hello Bruce! Thanks for the support.

Logging in has not been a chore for me at all. I think it just takes time for people to understand how to navigate a new system. Since most of my subscribers are used to Yahoo groups, many of them elderly and not everyone is internet savvy, they just get confused about how to navigate, they panic and say "I can't do it! Something is wrong!" but they can't really describe what is wrong. That's why I suggested having a polls link in the left menu. Would make it more simple for my users I think. I've been on the internet for years and have plenty of experience and I am still learning. There are a couple thing on the left menu I have a lot to learn about. Hashtags and Wiki. I really don't understand how to use either.

When the file is being added, there is a tick box to have the group notified. All you have to do is check it off and a system message is generated. It's not a hashtag but it's a notification that can then be used for discussion and/or followup information in the group.

I have the same problem. I have 447 members in red bounce status, most of them with Yahoo accounts. I have sent a bounce probe to all of them twice, but the number of bounced members seems to be steady and I haven't received any complaints so far.
So I'll probably just delete them and wait. If they are actually interested in the group, they will subscribe again, hopefully with a different account.

This is just the first bounced member. The other 63 have more or less the same history. I don?t understand at all what all these commentaries means, neither do I understand the abreviations.

I did find the button to send a bounce probe. So I?ll do this with all of them first before I take another step. But just deleting them doesn?t seem right to me. Because before we were transferred, I sent emails to all my close to 600 members, and at that time I already became aware of whose addresses didn?t work any more. Those I deleted. But the 64 members that are hard bounced (red b) now, must not necessarily have invalid email adresses. I don?t mind the work associated with this procedure of writing to all of them, but I try to understand what?s happening.

One more question: How do I notice if s.o. unbounces himself?

That shouldn't matter. It will only affect messages that arrive in plain-text format -- which means none of the Incredimail messages. If you have some members who prefer plain text you might leave that unchecked.

The advice to set Max Size In Email to No resizing is probably the key to letting stationary display correctly.

I did not set an alias for littlejack on , it's an alias in Gmail. Gmail should send the mail as having come from littlejack@... so the expectation is that it would have bounced.

Oh... Interesting.

I've successfully used Gmail's Send mail as feature to send mail as the -owner address of one of my Yahoo groups. And I know that comes out right because I generally cc the messages to the -owner address as well.

Maybe it works differently (or, doesn't work) if you are trying to "spoof" another Gmail address. But then they ought to tell you that when you try to set it up, or at worst when you try to use it. I know back when I had Verizon as my ISP email they wouldn't let me send mail as another Verizon address, but they were perfectly fine with letting me spoof a group's -owner address or any address that wasn't .

LOL. Looks like the alias worked as expected. From this end it looks just as if you'd sent the message from mbergen - which is correct behavior for an alias, no one else should be aware that you used it instead of your subscription address.
