Premium features...more explanation, please
Per the Pricing page, there are a number of additional features available in Premium groups. I need a better understanding of these features so I can sell the notion of an upgrade to our [non-profit] board.
Storage, Integrations, Direct-Add, Track Removed Members, RSVPs -- I can get my head around these. "Track Removed Members" sounds like chipping them with a miniaturized GPS, but I think I know what it really means. I like the idea of the RSVP feature but we're kinda "married" to Google Calendaring at this point. We won't be able to use it until I can convince others to get a divorce...or at least a trial separation. The ability to embed the GIO calendar in our web site (via an iframe or whatever) would also help, if anyone has successfully done that. The following features I still don't understand:
Thanks in advance, Bruce |

Re: Topics vs Messages
Topic = Subject around which a discussion ensues and is set by the first message.
Discussion = the series of messages replying to the first or subsequent messages under that Topic. Thread = a series of consecutive replies, e.g., A replies, B replies to A, C replies to B,... Threads can branch, e.g., D also replies to A, A to D, X to D,... Discussions can be presented as threaded (indent for each reply) or flat ( unthreaded). Groups.io is flat. More explanation?. |

Following up with a "removed" member might be a reasonable course of action on small lists.
Due to some erratic behavior by Yahoo Mail, *some* incoming mails are automatically but inappropriately dumped into users' SPAM folders, thus marking the messages as SPAM even when they are not, even when the user has not so marked them, and doesn't even know about this. I got booted from a IO Group for marking messages as SPAM, though I'd never done so and it came as news to me.? I don't think it's a bug with Yahoo Mail, it seems to be a feature.? If a user deletes an email message without reading it, Yahoo Mail concludes that it was SPAM and so marks some or all additional incoming messages from that source as SPAM.? Even if the source is Yahoo Groups.? At least with my account - and I am betting that's the case with many other Yahoo Mail accounts as well.? -simon |

Hi Robert, I didn't realize that this was a feature of a paid group. I took a paid group for the expanded storage but now have two features that have come in real handy:

about that but am very glad to have this feature, it is really handy.
Oddly, Banned members appear in the Member List but not Past. Paul, Ohio, USA |
Re: Directory
#directory
Is a moderator able to set this for all members of the group so they can all see each other in the directory, or must each individual member make that setting in their Group Profile?
