Re: accessing attachments
Paul,
Does this mean that the only group members that can view attachmentsNo, group members can access them through the messages they were attached to. And in the special case of images, there's an Emailed Photos album for them. Re: Migration questions
Mike,
Can a group be private and unseen by the community generally,Somewhat. But there is no equivalent to what Yahoo Groups classic called a "closed" group. You can avoid listing the group in the Groups.io directory, and you can make your group's Messages available to members only. Also Wiki, Calendar and Guidelines; each has their own setting. But you can't make the home page itself invisible to non-members as one could in Yahoo Groups. thus only available by invitation.Nor can you prevent people from using the "Request Membership" button or the +subscribe email command. However, if your group has "Restricted Membership" checked you can ignore or reject all such applications. Re: Moving photos from one album to another
Carl,
Let me add one more vote to having this high on the Todo List. MovingAs Duane said earlier in this topic, It is on the official To-Do list: But to "cast a vote" for it you'd have to chime in on the beta group, there are no Groups.io personnel monitoring GMF. You could add a reply to this topic: "Move photos between albums" Shal GMF Moderator -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
Re: accessing attachments
Shal, Does this mean that the only group members that can view attachments are the Group Owners in a Paid Group? can't view attachments? Thanks, Paul, Ohio, USA

I am an owner plus pay $110/yr and I don't see an "Upgrade" page under "Admin". What am I missing? Hover the cursor over your name in the upper right hand corner. That will show the email address you used to log in. Possibly you are logged in under an address which isn't a group owner? For example, a moderator absent the Billing permission. If so, let me know and I will try and search the messages. Instead of unsubscribing from one IO group I belong to, I set my subscription to no mail. This seemed to have worked for a couple or three weeks or so, but I just got a slew of messages. I checked the subscription again and it is still set to no mail. What could have caused this? I went back in, set it to individual email, saved it, and then immediately set it to no mail. Maybe that will work for awhile. Stan |

Links transfer as a database. Seems to have worked well except Yahoo had problems so had to recreate a couple in Groups IO. Paul, Ohio, USA

Our travel group has a links library and we have it in the wiki. I wonder whether you can have it moved to there.

Click on Edit for the post, then scroll down to the attachment and select the Delete box, save the message.? This is another one of those things that I learned when it was introduced.? Not totally intuitive for new folks.

Re: Moving photos from one album to another
yes you could move pics on yahoo i run a card making group and we do several swaps a month and sometimes new members would put in wrong album and id have to move them, then at end of year i would move all pics to 1 album for the year then start with monthly albums again and would love to have that facility on io

Sorry, but it won't show for anyone who is not logged in as a member of the group you dragged it from.
Files and Photos stored in groups can't be shared publicly.
