You can't do much about it. The person should have got an email from Groups.io to unbounce themselves. They themselves can log into their iCloud account and see whether their group messages are in

I have the same problem. Seems to happen mostly with linked photos from Facebook. Here's a screenshot of a recent example. The photos I copied into this post still exist on Facebook.
