Re: List of group Owners/Admins/Moderators
Frances, Thanks for your hint !? This provided the information I was looking for.
?
As it turns out I am one of the owners, but hadn't used the Admin functions as someone else was primary..
?
Until you provided the hint to filter on Moderator, the all members list did flag who were owners/moderators.

Re: List of group Owners/Admins/Moderators
If you write to the owner address, your message will go to those who get those messages. 'Contact Group Owner' appears on messages. On Wed, Jul 3, 2024 at 7:44?AM Rush Kester via <rwkester=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Slanderous posting
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Brenda, in case no one has alerted to this. In his last change, log that was posted on beta, he mentioned that he would be on vacation this week. I believe he returns on July 8. So it'll be sometime after the eighth, whenever he responds probably.

Re: Slanderous posting
Hello? Don~
I have contacted support with documentation. I don't know the process or timeframe. In the mean time, the site continues to call our community the Brown Shirt Compound. The owner of the site sent one of my members threats of a lawsuit.? Whatever the outcome, I will respect the decision. With appreciation, Brenda Sindorf The Colony Emailers Murrieta CA |
Re: Slanderous posting
Could you report back here if anything is done about this?

I would recommend putting this in the subject line:
TOS Violation and maybe a few words relating to the violation(s). The "TOS" might get Mark's attention on your email. I would list the TOS violations before mentioning the libel thing. My appreciation to all who have assisted me.Why has the elephant in the room never been mentioned? One obvious course of action/remedy is to sue the miscreant for libel. More effective, meaningful, totally independent of and cuts off any attempts to circumvent GIO's response. A cease and desist letter from a lawyer might even be sufficient to stop the behavior (although probably not). With 1500 members of your community there might even be a lawyer amongst them willing to take the case pro bono. Monetary damages and a court order should get her attention real quick. Art |

You¡¯re not in this group. Is someone passing these messages on to you? Can that person not take some action within the group, at least to the level of complaining about behaviour likely to lead to the closing of the group? Brenda, In the Terms of Service You agree to not use the Service to:
It seems to me that #6 -- threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous -- would apply here, even if such behavior were directed to someone who's not in that group. Also, is your group, TheColonyEmailers, a groups.io group?? If so, then it would seem that #7? -- objectionable or which restricts or inhibits any other person from using or enjoying the Service -- would also apply. As others have said, send mail to [email protected] and include examples of the behavior(s) that you describe directed towards you and/or others. From: "Frances" <frances@...> Brenda, |
Re: Slanderous posting
Brenda,
It has been suggested that you contact support. The Terms oF Service says Please contact us at [email protected] to report any violations of these Terms of Service or to pose any questions regarding this Terms of Service or the Service. However note that the terms also says: User Disputes "You agree that you are solely responsible for your interactions with any other user in connection with the Service and Groups.io will have no liability or responsibility with respect thereto. Groups.io reserves the right, but has no obligation, to become involved in any way with disputes between you and any other user of the Service." Read the whole document here. Quote the relevant bits to Support. /static/tos At the same time, you might try an additional way to back off. If yours is an organized 55 plus community, is there some organization like a condo or strata board of directors, or management company? ?Whether or not she is an owner / occupier of a unit in your community, they may do something since she is putting your community in disrepute. I would also suggest encouraging others to complain as well. Frances PS I don't think we can do anything else for you. -- Help available from Groups.io help and GMF wiki. ? |
Re: Slanderous posting
Otto~
The Colony is an active senior living community of 55+ older residents. 1500 residents I would be appreciative if I can get the information where I can file a complaint, or whatever the process is to have this CC4U site looked into. Just this past week, the owner of this site allowed the humiliation of an 86 year old woman. This is what this site allows. Constant bullying. Residents are fed up. But the residents she bullies, are not her members. They are members of my site, TheColonyEmailers. So they have no recourse to defend themselves. The owner won't allow it. Please provide me the info where I can take this issue for, hopefully, a resolve. Kindly, Brenda Sindorf |
