It's not immediately obvious and perhaps having a separate field type of email would be helpful but it can be done with a field type of Link.? When you enter the value in the field you just need to use the mailto: tag:

When the table row is displayed, it does show the mailto: tag but the address is clickable:

I think I'll suggest having an additional type on Beta.

Clickable e-mail in database

Is it possible to add a clickable e-mail address to a database? I haven't been able to find any info on that. I know there are options to choose html or link as a database row but I'm not sure what this does. Currently I have a database in a group I manage, where we have an e-mail address, but that's just a text field.

Thanks for any advice!
Winnie

Re: How do I edit my member's names?

Thanks Duane,
?Some how a page came up allowing me to add their display name and full given name. I save the link because I don't yet know how the page came up.? I do understand members can change all that and yes, I will have to keep on top of that.? But few of our members have ever gone through the trouble of creating a password or logging in.

You can't change their profile, only their member information, specifically the Display Name.? Note that you cannot prevent the members from changing it to something else though, so you'd need to stay on top of it.

You go to Admin-Members, select a member and change their Display Name.

I see that as moderator I am permitted to edit members names in their profiles.? But I can't figure out how to actually do that.

Re: How do I edit my member's names?

Funny, in my group anything that even looks like a real name is not permitted!
Real names can lead to real trouble.
In my groups we changed the group rules to require full names to eliminate problems with trolls. That kind of behavior flourishes when it can hide it's identity.

Re: How do I edit my member's names?

Hi Sarah,
I hope someone can answer my question of how I can edit member's profiles to add their names.
Many chat groups meet only on-line and I'm? sure you are right.

Ours is a very tight-nit community.? We're mostly form a local region. We meet in person several times per year. It's a private group and member's info is not available out side our group.? We've had an on-line chat group? since 1999 and as far as I know.? All of our functions are open to all members. Members must participate in live Billy events and then be sponsored by an existing member of out chat group before being allowed to join.
We want privacy but not anonymity.
Joe

New RSVP event going to Monthly calendar instead if individual event #calendar #rsvp

Edited

Hi all,
Sorry, the subject should have been RSVP event goes to monthly calendar instead OF individual event.

The subject of this message says it all. I set up a trial subgroup to test new a few changes to my group, and when I set up a repeating event, the RSVP takes me to this month's calendar, rather than the individual event. This is going to confuse my members who rely on the email to take them exactly where they have to RSVP.

I have no problems with similar events on my actual site, but I'm a bit concerned that this might happen to my main site. Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks
Norm

For most e-mail clients hold down the CNTL key and spin the mouse wheel to decrease/increase the font size.? Does that work for you?

Hello. You got a response from one of the nvda debs yesterday I believe, please reach out to them and see if they can see what is going on so they can then reach out to groups.IO re accessibility and next steps. Or try list view as someone else suggested.

Thanks and happy Tuesday.

OH yeah, list view also helps as well.I always default to that with almost any view if at all possible on any website as it just works and is way less cluttered, or at least is most of the time.

The only way I could get it to show all events is to use something other than Month.? The closest I could get to the Monthly view, and still see all events, was to use List view.

Re: Unusual Invitation Status

Thank you, Duane.

?

I know the recipient of the invitation is receiving it. The attempts to respond are time-stamped shortly after I send the invitation (I¡¯ve sent two). This notice comes up in the ¡°Sent Invitations¡± area, where we can see if an invitation has been accepted.

I decided to ask the person for a different email address.

That's not all that unusual.? It means that there's a problem on the other end and the message isn't being delivered.? It's normally a temporary thing (the deferred part), though it can take some time to work right.? All you can do is keep trying to see if it will eventually go through.
