Re: As an owner/moderator can I see digest messages if I do not receive digests?

Here's why. You mention they have Yahoo email. If they're using the Yahoo Mail phone app, it's notorious for having the delete message button next to the spam button. I've had members accidentally press the spam button when they only wanted to delete the (already read) message. That triggers the feedback loop and unsubscribes them. I don't have the image handy but one member took a screen capture of those buttons and they are indeed very close to each other, making it all too easy to tap the wrong one. If they're not using that app, then they allowed a GIO message to remain in their spam folder long enough that Yahoo deleted it and triggered the feedback loop, or they did actually mark the message as spam. They should be able to train the email system to recognize GIO messages as not spam by dragging the message from the spam folder into the inbox, or by whitelisting GIO messages if that's what's happening. My guess, though, is that they're using the app and they tapped the wrong button. But digests are actually specific for each individual, based both on their time zone (i.e.: what messages have accumulated before 6 AM local time) and when they started receiving them. If you were to switch to digest mode today, your first one would be Digest #1, not 480. Regards, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

Merging threads
Hi all
I have a problem when trying to merge two threads.? The system seems to have hung on one particular merge (which did work OK) and when I try to start a new merge, it just refers back to the original thread that I wanted to merge.?? I even tried creating a dummy thread so I could clear the merge, but when I try it just goes to a blank screen. Any thoughts? Thanks Steve M |

Bob,
In this case, there is no interest in adding these emailers to the group membership. The Groups.io group is for a small core group that are elected to take responsibility for the organization as a whole. However the small group wish to be able to receive emails in their groups.io account which have been forwarded from their email address. The email integration seems to be working! Frances,
In our Premium Group, screen people after receiving an application. At the same time our Application form generates a welcome email to an integration point in the group which is moderatedd. If, after reviewing the application, they are considered ok,the moderator Direct Enrolls the person and unmoderates the pre built "please welcome (given name, city, state, counttry), who wishes to "yada'yada". which cues members to welcome them to the group. -- Bob Bellizzi [email protected]?online? support? group for corneal dystrophy patients & caregivers ? |

Bruce,
Thanks, setting up an integration for outside emails from an email address works beautifully. Basically it forwards mail to the Groups.io account from that outside email address and then is moderated as selected. Frances -- Help available from Groups.io help and GMF wiki. ? |
Re: Problem with replies
#question
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNichole,This looks to me like the person (or email client) replying added a second instance of the #introduction hashtag to the message subject, that would create a separate topic thread as the subjects don't match anymore. Do this, in that message with the double #introduction in the subject you posted in the screenshot, click on the More menu and select View Source.? Scroll down until you find the Subject: header.? I have a feeling it will either say, Subject: Re: #introduction #introductionor with no Re:, Subject: #introduction #introductionYou would then need to contact that member and find out what they did which caused the double hashtag in their reply. I second Bruce's suggestion of adding a group subject tag it makes things easier for email users who subscribe to more than one group. Cheers, Christos On 2022-10-13 12:31, Nichole Arp via

What email client are you using to reply? Does it happen when you reply using the web interface? Does it happen with everyone, or just select people?? ? The only thing I can suggest at this point is to create a Subject Tag for the group. That will put something in the subject line of emails (in addition to the lone #introduction hashtag), and maybe that will help any misbehaving software to play more nicely with each other. But I have to acknowledge that's nothing more than a wild guess. Ref:?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/customizing-group-settings/general-settings? Picture below of reply to original post with the #introduction to show you an example. You can see it is split off the original thread even though it is a reply and for some reason groups.io made the subject #introduction#introduction. The last picture is of the #introduction settings (sorry I couldn't get it all in the screen shot). Thank you for reading and for any advice you can provide. Thanks, Bruce. I've direct added him. It sounds like he may no longer have the password.

Thanks. I fed this back.
We had a similar problem with the same person's picture attachments a few months ago. Re: Pixellated attached pictures
The reason for this is that these "images" are not JPEGs, they are RDF files but with the JPG extension for some reason, the file header starts correctly for a JPG for the first few bytes but then it goes astray into RDF land.? I suspect the sender did something incorrectly, maybe some image copy+paste or something, you may want to ask the sender how they embedded those images, and/or send you the email they sent to the group or resend it directly to you, maybe it will shed some light as to what happened.

Pixellated attached pictures
I remember we had some issue with this before and it went away. I received a
post in one of my groups that had 3 pictures attached, but they were so severely pixilated I could not make out what they were supposed to be pictures of. I went to the group web site and saw placeholder boxes in the message but no pictures. Is anyone else seeing this? This is the message. I think non-members can view this. On the site you won't likely see the pictures.
