Member Can't See Messages from One Member

We have one member (on aol) who can see on her email feed all the messages that post to our list except those posted by one particular member (on gmail). Everyone else (including others on aol and gmail) can see all the messages from all members.

The impacted member can go to the groups.io site, login and see the messages there but this doesn't help when there is a dynamic discussion taking place on email. I am new to this group but have others faced this problem and if so, any suggestions? I don't see anything obvious in anyone profiles that should be causing this problem.

Joyce

Re: Problem receiving io group mail

One of my groups also has a member being bounced by iinet.net.au. Their support has not been responsive. He is fairly tech savvy and tells me iinet has gone through several acquisitions. Shades of Y!? I've suggested switching providers. I think he is doing so.

Probably not an easy change because of the way the site works.? It uses the editor that's needed based on the content being edited.? You could make the suggestion on the beta group if you want.? It should be relatively easy to update any existing notices by copying them into a formatted notice so you wouldn't have to start from scratch.? That's what I've been doing when I need to add formatting.

Re: Problem receiving io group mail

Thanks for your reply Bruce.. I couldn't see how I could get headers either.
I finally rang them today (emails got me nowhere) and after going round and round for an hour trying to explain what the problem was, the "troubleshooter" typed up a report and said it had been "elevated" to another dept.
His accent was so hard to understand, so I don't know just WHERE it is going. If I click on the link to view the "tasks" currently being dealt with, I get an error message.
I'll probably have to ask for a supervisor who doesn't have an accent... lol.
I'll wait another 24 hours and see what happens.. it is 12 days now since the problem started.

Re: Formatting toolbar not showing in some member notices #membernotices

Thank you, Duane, I followed your advice and wrote the two notices from scratch.
I think it would be easier to have the formatting bar always displayed.
That would allow to format a plain text notice, should the need arise, without having to delete it and write it again.

Best,
Marina

Win -- I haven't responded because I don't understand what they want. How are you supposed to provide them with the header of an email that they bounced, and thus you never received?

Appended is some header information that I received in a groups.io email in another group. I don't know how helpful it will be.

Good luck,
Bruce

Re: Problem receiving io group mail

If this is about me, I have already contacted my ISP (yes, iinet.com.au) and they want headers.
Please see message 40380, where I posed a question here several days ago about how to get headers from group mail.. and no one answered.
I hope you can help, I have had nothing come in to my in Box since 25th Jan.

Re: Calender Sync with Google #bug

Thanks Andy, we had a bit of a weird one.
A deleted event was still showing several days afterwards. I could see it had been deleted and the groups.io calendar had no trace of the original event.
One of our admins deleted a recurring event and replaced it with a one off event, it didn't disappear from Google synced calendars which showed two events at the same time.
I've deleted all the future repeating events and one off event, just over 12 hours later it's caught up.
The original event was deleted about a week ago.
Yes I'm aware it automatically updates a couple of times a day but you never know if there's a trick.
Just my impatience wishing I could speed things up rather than wait - lol.

All seems ok now
Martyn.

Probably not a bug.? The formatting bar doesn't show up if the original message/notice was in plain text.? I'd see if I could create new notices of those types that are formatted, then delete the old ones if that works.

Re: Problem receiving io group mail

Alyssia, I'd start by looking her up in the members list (Admin > Members), and checking her email delivery history for successful and unsuccessful deliveries, as well as her activity history to see if she's made any recent changes to her settings, email address, etc.

Under the Admin menu check either Billing (for a paid group) or Upgrade (for a free group).

Formatting toolbar not showing in some member notices #membernotices

When writing a post, I have access to a formatting toolbar which allows me to change the text in bold, italics or change the message style in various ways.
The same happens when I write a new member notice.

However, today, when I was about to change the text of some existing member notices, I found out that the toolbar was not always displayed. Two notices (Group Guidelines and Pending subscription, both active), once opened, do not show the toolbar. The other member notices (active and not) are OK, I can change their text format without any problem.

Could it be a bug?

Thank you for your help.

We seem to be having issues with Google calendar syncing,
It only syncs overnight which is a pain but sometimes it misses an event or retains a deleted event.
A quick search using your favourite search engine show plenty of questions about how often Google calendar syncs with external feeds (in the case the ICS feed from Groups.io). A common answer is? 'every few hours' but that seems to mean anywhere between 4 and 24 hours.
Deleting and re adding the account doesn't remove the out of sync changes

I'm not sure what account you are referring to. I don't see how deleting and re-adding a Groups.io account would help.? The issue is Google picking up updates from a Groups.io calendar feed and that is based upon the group name which would stay the same regardless of deleting and re-adding a Groups.io account.
