Re: What does NC ("not confirmed") next to their email address mean? (was: question)
J_Catlady
BTW if you have a premium or enterprise group and it is restricted, meaning that you have to approve memberships, then approving someone's membership will automatically confirm them on the assumption that you know the person.?

Re: Reply to option issue
It sounds like you want most replies online to go to the sender and not the group.? If so, you should go to Admin > Settings and scroll down to the Message Policies section.? Under Reply To, set it for Sender instead of Group.
When replying online, just below the composition box, right side, there's a button to toggle the action taken.? If you've set the default to Group (which is probably where yours is now, It will say Private.? Once you click on that, the button on the left will be blue and say Reply to Sender instead of green and Reply to Group. Duane |

Re: What does NC ("not confirmed") next to their email address mean? (was: question)

When someone requests membership in a group, and is not yet in any other groups.io groups (i.e., they are not yet a member of groups.io), groups.io sends an email asking them to "confirm" that they requested membership. This is to prevent someone from signing up someone else (like, if I ordered 10 pizzas sent to your house:). The person needs to click on the "confirm membership" link within the email to confirm that they, indeed, requested the membership. Sometimes they don't, or the email goes into spam, or who knows what. If you continue to see the "NC," you can click on the option to "resend confirmation email" and hope they get the resent email. If it still continues, you can try to contact the person outside the system (via your own email) in case groups.io emails are going into the person's spam folder, and ask them to locate the confirmation email and click on on the link. If they STILL can't find it (and this has happened a number of times in my own group), and you know you want to admit the person to your group, you can email Mark and ask him to let them in.
Until the person is confirmed, even though they look like a member of your group they will not be able to post messages to the group or access any group content. They're essentially on hold. -- J |
Reply to option issue
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý? I have a new group The only item I have to configure to mimic the way my Yahoo Group was working Is the Reply to ? Apparently everyone who is selecting the reply to online in the messages is replying to the entire group There is no selection to reply to sender ¨C see attachment Reply to options This is requiring a lot of additional moderation to screen these reply¡¯s so that everyone in the group ?????does not have to receive extra emails that they do not need to see ? ? These are the options in the email that is sent to the member email address This has the additional option to reply to sender ? What does NC ("not confirmed") next to their email address mean? (was: question)
Hello,? Someone has requested to join our group and there is an NC next to their email address. It says "not confirmed". What does this mean? Other people who have requested to join have not had the NC next to their email address, so I didn't know what this refers to.? Thank you, Erienne |
Re: Messages to Owner
Thanks all for the quick responses. I've found it all now (at least some of it), but no doubt I'll have new questions tomorrow. ? In quick observation, I find the new groups powerful and complex, but with a plethora of commands tucked in places I'd never think to look. Obviously I should look harder, but mouse-overs or pop-up options would make things so much easier. Wonder if there's an online guide to using the groups? It's probably too early to ask for that, but I'm already getting questions from group members who seem (almost) as befuddled as I.? Norman ? ? ? ? ?Norman C. Berns ? ? ? ? ? I am supposing you are the group owner.? If not you cannot view owner messages. If you log into your group, look on the left bars.? You will see a tab for Admin.? This will show you any pending messages or members. That is the only place?I am aware of.? I am sure there are any other number of places to look I am unaware of. Doug? Re: Searching Members by Name and/or Email

If there are pending members the default view of admin/members shows
those pending (presumably because you are expected to do something about them). Just click on the the 'pending' box and select members to show them all. If there are no pending it opens by default to all members. I am puzzled you are having issues with this. I search members all the time there and it just works.
