I have an active member who is having difficulty with sending and receiving posts to our group of friends, for whom groups.io is our main form of continuity in communication. He has unsubscribed and re-subscribed more than once, both on his own and with the help of the two co-moderators, and also re-subscribed with a new e-mail address. We are receiving his group posts, but he is not, My co-moderator and I are at a loss to help him further and think the problem may be on his own computer. Neither of us are tech savvy enough to be of further help.
Is there a phone number, a chat room or other means by which he can get assistance quickly? (We are in the US on Eastern Time.) He is a prolific and important contributor. Please feel free to reply to this or directly off-list as my own e-mail, bsandpp@....? Thanks, Paul |

See the "export group data" button at the top of your Settings page. After opening the resulting file in a compatible mail client (e.g.: Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird), you can then print the messages to a PDF document and put that in the target group's files area. I did that for several groups that I wanted to help migrate from Yahoo but whose owners were unwilling to give me sufficient permissions to do it the "right" way. People would need to be members of that group to access them unless you have public archives.? May be more trouble than it's worth though. I guess I was just hoping that somehow I could find a way to preserve/migrate message from the old group into the new one, perhaps by linking to the old group messages? I have a feeling the answer is no...just a shot in the dark.

Thought so. That is a bummer. This means I have to re create the group and subgroups under parent B group and then send new invitations to everyone to join again?
Folders is easy to create and move. What about messages that have already been posted? Anyway to move those? Or create links to those? Thank you so much for your speedy reply! |

There's no merging (or splitting) of (sub)groups on GIO that can be done programmatically.? You'd have to do everything manually.? They have Groups.io accounts. The distinction between email members and those who have never logged in is a false distinction.? And if they wish to participate in a poll, yes, they will need to go to the website. But that's easy. They can use the special link - Email me a link to login. Merging one parent group into another

Is it possible to merge a parent group (lets call it A) into our parent group (lets call it B)?? Both parent groups also contain subgroups. Can we take parent group A and make it a subgroup in parent group B transferring all its files and messages and contacts with it?
I am an owner of both groups. Any advice greatly appreciated! |

When the group I co - own migrated from Yahoo towards the end of 2017 my ISP (and mail provider) British Telecom had an annoying habit of shunting quite a bit of Groups.io traffic into my spam box, which meant that it didn't upload into Outlook.
