Do you mean clicking Reply in Yahoogroup's web interface, or do you mean clicking Reply in the e-mail program?

FWIW:

I did some testing with a Yahoogroup that I have, and I was unable to get Yahoogroups to offer me a Reply All option when replying to a message. What settings do you have in Yahoogroups that result in there being a Reply All option? Is that Reply All option in the Yahoogroups web interface or in e-mail programs?

It appears that the options in the dropdown list under Reply To in the group settings apply only to the web interface, and doesn't have any effect on messages being sent via e-mail. I wonder, can anyone here please confirm that that is so?

The way it works now in Groups.io is that Reply goes to both the Sender as well as the entire Group, and Reply All goes to both the Sender as well as the entire Group /twice/.
How do you get a Reply All button in Groups.io's web interface? I fiddled with my group's settings and could not achieve it. Or does it only appear for messages that were sent to the group after the setting was changed?

Just for those interested, I started the following topic in beta a short while ago:??
This is something I've almost gotta have as trying to get people to understand that "off topic on main is just fine in chat" or similar is well nigh impossible and it's a heck of a lot easier to just shift a topic within a group-subgroup cluster where it belongs (if the capability were to exist).

If -- for whatever reason -- a subscriber refuses to log in, there is currently no way for you to intervene and record a poll response on his behalf.

I'd guesstimate that about half my subscribers are of an email-only persuasion; and either respond via email, or simply get frustrated when the "Vote now" link seemingly "doesn't work" and refuse to vote at all. Thus, poll results often fail to provide an accurate historical record.

This is the main reason that I rarely use the polling function.

Gary, they don't have to worry about passwords.

See?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Logging-In

Groups.io makes it simple and free to log in ¡ª you don't even need a password:

  1. Use this link to go to groups.io using your browser on ANY internet enabled device:
    /sendloginlink
  2. Enter your email address ¡ª be sure to enter the address where you receive this group's messages.
If you are not sure, look in?the footer?at the very bottom of any message you've received by email.
  3. Click the green?Email Link To Log In?button:
    Screen shot of button
Monitor your email because a special link will be sent to the email address you entered.
  4. When you get the email on your device, Click on the link or copy and paste it into your Internet browser
You should? be taken to a web page where you can see a link to this group.

Your email address is your account ID. These steps log you in to Groups.io, and to any groups that you subscribe to using the same address. You will stay logged in for 30 days, extended each time you visit. If your login expires you can repeat this process any time you wish. You may also repeat this process on other computers, browsers, or devices you wish to use, you do not need to log out of one to use another.

Poll Responses #polls

Some of my members are replying to the poll message with their answer rather than dealing with the "hassle" of recovering their forgotten or never-created login password.? Is there any way for me as moderator to manually add their responses to my membership poll?

You can have one poll with multiple choices for them.
But if it is a different topic altogether it has to be a separate poll.
?
Also I found out the hard way.
If anyone in your group is on Moderation, they cannot vote in the poll.?
The only members who can vote in a poll are those who have no restrictions in posting
in the group.? Leeni

Is each question a separate poll? Do members have to go to separate pages to respond or do the questions appear on one page?

Reply vs Reply All

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

We recently transferred our group from Yahoo to Groups.io. Our group's Reply To option is set to "Group and Sender" thinking that would work the same as it did in Yahoo Groups, where clicking Reply sends a response only to the Sender and Reply All goes to both the sender and the group. However, it doesn't work this way in Groups.IO.

Our membership became comfortable with Yahoo using Reply to send an answer only to the person who sent the message, and Reply All when the answer was appropriate for the entire group.

The way it works now in Groups.io is that Reply goes to both the Sender as well as the entire Group, and Reply All goes to both the Sender as well as the entire Group twice. Yes, two copies go to the entire group when using Reply All. This makes no sense.

Am I missing some other Setting that should accompany the choice of "Group and Sender" to make it behave logically?

I could swear that when I was testing Groups.io last fall before our group's transfer that Reply vs Reply All worked just the same as in Yahoo. It was one of the things I had on my checklist to test. If the "Group and Sender" option is actually working as intended, I would like to formally request a change to behave as it did at Yahoo.

Analytics and/or Integration with Salesforce Social Studio #howto

I have a large and active group (100's of posts per day) and have recently implemented Salesforce (including Social Studio - used for monitoring social).

Would love to get any guidance on:
1. Integrating Social Studio from Salesforce
2. General analytics - either extracting data to do custom analytics or existing packages/approaches.? ? For example, would love to get the trends, sentiment and level of engagement overall plotted and measured over time.? ?Unique active users etc.

Thanks in advance,

Controlling the e-mail you receive from Groups.io

Brian Vogel

Hello All,

? ? ? ? ? ? ?I recently posted a link to a document I wrote (and, I will warn readers this time in advance, its target audience is screen reader users, so the instructions get a bit screen reader centric) regarding how one can actually set up the exquisite level of control Groups.io offers the e-mail participant over what messages they will, and will not, see and in what format.? I figured a separate topic wouldn't be a bad idea.

? ? ? ? ? ? ?Both these documents are on my Google Drive, the only difference between the two being that one is in MS-Word docx format and the other PDF.

One down, [hopefully] one to go.

When I send an email to the groupname@groups.io it does not show in the messages list on the groups.io website either.
Okay, that's an entirely different problem.

Most likely, you're attempting to post from an account that's not subscribed to the group. You can confirm this by review of the Activity log (Admin>Activity). You'll likely find an entry along these lines:? "Non-member noname@... attempted to send message 'not receiving emails' via email"

If you have a previous group email in your possession, look at the footer. Your subscribed email address can be found in square brackets [ ] at the bottom-right of the message. Send from that address and it should post.

You can also look up your subscribed email address by opening your subscriber record in the Members List (Admin>Members).?

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Re: override Attachments:Moderate setting

However, we prefer messages with attachments from our moderators to
be not moderated, so we don't need to approve our own postings.
I'd like to have the same ability, but as far as I know this is not possible yet.
